What the hell is this "virtual dimension"? the description is so confusing. Is the real body descend to this dimension or what? or just the consciousness? but if just the consciousness, why the hell it's described as real world, the MC's family can live there fine and dandy happily ever after. What about their real body? they don't need to eat? sleep? etc etc.

Excuse me, what the f*ck? what the purpose of this so called "virtual dimension" world if the real body of the user doesn't descend? isn't it would be just the same world where the "Uganda Knuckle" came from? just like playing games on VR then you throw off some money to get more fancy equipment? what the use of throwing so much money on this? the MC wants to use it as communication media with his family? video call maybe? and what the use of the fancy house, servant etc? its just a bunch of code, design some random fancy house then code it, create some random NPC as a servant. It would cost around hundred bucks in total.

How about your opinion guys?

        imo so called virtual dimension is like it called. instead of do your activities like working with your body you can do it in virtual world and to stay in the virtual dimension you need own a house and buy a the helmet. It seems that fluxer was quite common in the virual world because they can earn much money.

          SomeMnlightSculptr Exactly my point, it is just VR device, why so expensive? why need house and servant? what whit the elite area? what so great about that?

          Tertium working? in Virtual Dimension? like mining Bitcoin? is there any benefit by staying at this virtual dimension?

          But then again, the so called "shadow hack" itself is full of nonsense. It was a computer, not some random magic artifact. If the author tells me that it was some random magic rock or some random system, then I can accept it, but computer to create shadow that can doing literally everything? the computer was man made, and from his world, why the civilization that created this godlike perished in the first place?

          The author loves to throw random stuff without clear reason and explanation.

                f5_sect_noob Basically, the virtual dimension is where the elites/richest of the society gathers. The virtual dimension can be accessed by fluxers through their badge ( or maybe something else) while normal people can go there using big equipments. Fluxers can freely access the virtual dimension while normal people needs to own a property inside the virtual dimension ( maybe assurance that only elite can enter inside?). The virtual dimension is very popular among elites because they can experience the life before the dark age where there's blue skies, clear body of waters, and peaceful. On the otherhand, fluxers goes to the virtual dimension to train fighting because they can fight while not getting their "real" bodies injured, fluxers uses the virtual dimension as training ground to fight without consequences.

                    Since the technology in SHADOW HACK is already advance to the extent of making a perfectly working "reality", we can assume that maybe the equipments used to get to the virtual dimension are already equipped with instruments that can take care of their bodies while inside the virtual dimension. People's consciousness enters the virtual dimension not their bodies.

                    I actually quite confuse when MC family enter and his father was using wheelchair right ? so their body really enter the virtual dimension or what ? I think if only consciousness his father body should completely okay

                      f5_sect_noob i have just reread chap 8 of shadow hack. .he was in his room when he entered the virtual dimension using the badge. .so do they need to logout to eat just like on all VR games ? And i think the majority of the people who bought the helmet used this to enter the virtual dimension to 'mentally' escape reality and enjoy the clean and beautiful environment inside. .

                          Tertium maybe it scans the brain in order to know the right physical appearance of a person, excluding Li Yunmu which has the freedom of changing his appearance through the hacking system. .

                            f5_sect_noob maybe the equipments used to enter the virtual dimension is expensive for a reason? Like to limit the amount of people going in and becoming lazy bums, their civilization needs people IRL to grind to keep the society working, they need people at the frontlines keeping them safe so they can't make the virtual dimension easily accesible, the existence of virtual dimension itself is only a "legend" among the normal people, the virtual dimension acts as something to motivate people because they need motivation in their fucked up world or else the people would be divided and strong people would establish their own strongholds. The existence of the virtual dimension itself is a symbol that the government is powerful enough, through it they can calm the minds of their subjects.

                              Sdir So in the end it was all just about prestige. No real usage or benefit to reason the ridiculous price. Considering the level of technology on the story, VR device that cost thousand times the average earning is just ridiculous.

                                  f5_sect_noob you should read the novel carefully. And btw, wtf? Mining bitcoins in virtual reality? Really? Do you think mining bitcoins is like mining ores and stuff? I hope you are joking on that one.

                                      f5_sect_noob thr virtual reality is used to separate the normal people from the elites. By separating the elites from the normal people, it can make the society more stable. You know what happens when elites and normal people are together? The normal people are used as toys to entertain the powerful ones. Basically, the virtual dimension keeps the demons in the heart of the elites in check so they wont go running around torturing normal people for fun.

                                          Sdir i think its just a metaphor of "Gaining money inside" but @f5_sect_noob , fluxers can gain money inside through their pvp fights. .as stated in the story, they can charge those who want to watch their fights. .

                                              First of all, it is an artificial dimensional world where they can trade real time with dimensional items (the money used are dimensional as well as items from or made with items from higher dimensions)

                                              Next, the "Shadow Hack" as you will learn later is not a computer, but instead a magical system that just used the computer to get to the MC. The MC is actually just one host in a LONG..... list of other hosts who have all got themselves killed. As it is explained by the system much later on the "Shadow Hack" chooses a host right before a cataclysm as to allow the host to grow quickly and eventually reach the "godly invincible realm" whatever level of power that is.
