I want to start with a few things. If there are tons of pirates, with super powers at that, then wouldn't it be insanely unprofitable to start a business because you would keep getting robbed?
So where do all of the thousands of different pirate gangs keep getting boats if there are no sea faring merchants? If there are shipwrights that sell to pirates, then where does the money come from? I mean pirates are poor and they keep killing each other and destroying each others ships. How would a well known pirate with a bounty even buy anything when a lot of the time his/her crew have bounties on them as well. That raises another question: how do pirates get enough supplies to last the months at sea if all they do is destroy and kill.
If I got anything wrong please correct me and also add on the reasons why the pirate world wouldn't work, aside from the devil fruits and haki and the like.

    TinyRustyPanda I think you are just hater... Guessing from your comments, you didn't watch or read the show... Most pirates either steal from other pirstes or merchant ships, build it on their own, or paying a ship builder to do it. Just because they are pirates doesn't mean they aren't allowed to go places with people. Like place Franky was at, a lot of pirates got their ship there.

    Although I agree on one thing, which is that how does so much people in that world know advanced knowledge of bigger ships. Not so weird as its a ocean world, but like guessing you dont know her as u prob skimmed stuff, but Gekko Moria's ship is way too big. But also please note, there are lot of devil fruits which also help build ship, like Gekko's was partly from the use of her DF.

    Lots of Blackmarkets too in that world, so honestly easy to get ships, bigger ships are prob built taking a year or two, a part which isn't shown in the show as its boring, also some pirates arent even technically pirates in that world, but more like adventurers. Also badder groups sometimes also forced citizens to buiod them ships, kind of like captain Morgan forcing his workers to build statue of him.

      TinyRustyPanda Plus I mean economy is mostly flourishing in that world, treasures are buried, everything you killed can be sold or eaten usually, and when towns are destroyed, they get funding from the marines and government if they are in the jurisdiction of them andnot a gang or yonko.
