So is there no way to sign up with email using the invite link? I have a friend who doesn't really like to expose her social accounts (bad experience and all that).

Please make sure that after your friend login in, he or she has to fulfill his/her nickname. Only in this case system will determine the success of your invitation.

I invited a bunch of people, but I only got the rewards for one of them.
I asked my friend to sign in using the link i sent him as well. He made one using google+ but i did not get the invite bonus ss... What is going on?

the stone for the person which you invite is none now. i manage to sign in people who come to my house and want to use my wifi hehe. but it seem they dont get anything stone like before. just know this, because i manage to ask him sign in using my phone.

I understand you guys have a problem with inviting friends to get the spirit stones. I too was having a problem as I could not figure it out as well but I was able to get the invites out and my friends signed up and then the reward for the invite was sent to me profile.
I invited 3 friends and I was able to get the spirit stone rewards. Just follow the steps and I think you should get the spirit stones reward as well. Here's out:
- Sign in to your account.
- Click on "Get free spirit Stones".
- Go to invite friends and click on "Invite".
Now this will take you to the page where you select the format of how the invite will be done. That is, either email, Facebook and so further.
For me, I selected email caused it simpler. When you click on email icon and then it will load your already sign in email.
- Enter the email address of the person you are inviting. The link will already be there for them to click and press "Send"
Now, your part is done and it is your friends turn.
Have your friend sign into the email address that you had sent the link too. Once in there should be a subject with this subject line, "Your friend (your webnovel username) is inviting you to read webnovels together !".
After they open it, there will be a link in it, like this, "http://wbnv.in/......". You own link will be there. In this case, I removed the end of mine in the example.
It is going to take your friend to the webnovel page.
- Your friend will click on "Read Now" and it will take them to the sign in page where they select either "Facebook, Twitter or Google+". It does matter which your friend pick.
In my case, my friend selected Google+.
Once you select Google+, it will ask you to sign in with your gmail account.
Once there, it will log your friend into webnovel with their gmail account by asking for a username. Create a user name and your friend should be in after selecting the 6 types of navel they would like such as "reincarnation, comedy, weak to strong, ladies' choice/pick, adventure, sword and magic, etc.."
This will then load some books into their library.
At the end of the last book of the library your friend will see, a "Welcome Gift" in Orange. Click on it to claim their bonus spirit stones and check in as well. This should give them about 70 in spirit stones in their welcome gift and the amount of their check will be depend on how much they get. For now, let's say they get 9 spirit stones when they check in. As a result, they will have a total of 79 spirit stones.
Now, it is your turn, You will receive a notification in your app or webnovel in the browser that will read
"You received X Spirit Stones from inviting a friend of you."
Underneath, you will see the amount of the Spirit stone you earn from the invite and then all you have to do is click "Claim".
And that is it.
After my friends claim it, I am seeing the amount from all 3 invites in my account. As a result, I now have a lot of spirit stone to use.

shllove i dont think so. it doesnt work two times now. before this, the invitees only need to click the link , and sign through google+, me and the invitees both will get the stones. now. its only me.
the welcome gift changes, the new comer should complete some task to learn how to use this site/app. Hope this helps.
