I sell my stories on Google Play, Kobo, Amazon... for less than $2 usually (higher for 100k+ words) for full book with formatting.

Unless your with a publisher like Random House, sales are difficult to gain. Readers go free options like here or pirate sites when it comes to independent authors.
thinking that overcharging for a book will, not fix bad management, just look at the IPO stock value since they started, it sank faster then the titanic, now they are adding GPS tracking into a novel app, why its not needed in any way other then data mining, CRS sucks, once again bad management some admins think they are better than readers who pay thier wages ..and you all wonder why the site feels like its sinking fast and why people read on other sites

I pay around 5$ for a eBook if it has over 100k words. If the author is good I pay around 10$

Fun Fact: I got for the example the eBook price of Tarzan. If I want to read it in Germany - it should be for free since it is too old to have a copyright...

Actually, anything priced between $5 to $9 is the average for novels with 100k+ word count. Anything higher is generally set by traditional publishers, premium authors with a high reputation/popularity, or for non fiction like text books.
Project Gutenberg holds most of the public domain/expired copyright books that is free to download.
