  • How is it that my novel is both ranked no. 138 and 168?

Pretty much as it says in the title. I struggled to find it as I was browsing through the power rankings.

Nick_Alderson Bug. That's why. Are you using mobile browser/PC?
If any of these two, then just refresh it a few times.
And if it's mobile app, then dunno much except that they have changed the ranking system or something.

covid19 I've hit refresh a few times - I'm on PC. It seems like one ranking means one thing, and one means another, as the same thing happens with any novel I click on.

I've been removed from the ranking system lol! still no update though gaaaad, I hope this is already fixed after the weekly reset

Question- dose webnovel pay you for the novels you write and is it worth it? Im sorry if it sounds rude. Im just asking as i was thinking of publishing here and i dont really have the knowledge of how things work here.

BornToDreem They do, but only if you are contracted. I am not currently contracted. Whether you're offered a contract depends mostly on the popularity of your book, like views etc, and they're usually in the top 300 on the power rankings. That doesn't mean that all of them are in the top 300, I know plenty that are 400+. It just kind of depends.

They are two separate rankings - one is your Original Story ranking, and the other is your combined Original and Translated Stories ranking.

covid19 it has been 3 nights. Both my novels were ranked at 601.
I guess there's an app glitch. Haven't seen it through the lappy yet.

BornToDreem they would pay you once you get contracted. I've posted mine but I don't think it would get contracted. There's a certain criteria to meet, like how many views you got and the number of collections as well.

Don't expect other sites to par with webnovel. I've released a novel in both webnovel and ****** and I've got better responses over here.

What would you feel if your book was not picked up after 48 hours of posting? Darn frustrating right?
Pots of coffee and packets of ciggy won't be able to cure the frustration.

Just my 2 cents that dropped in the gutter

I mean, I write for fun, not for views or collections or votes, so I never pay attention to any of the stats or rankings.

I think I basically waited months before I got a first comment. That's all I really write for, to interact with the few commenters who talk to me about my story. And also because I like writing.

I'm in the same boat. Writing the same book for months, posting daily, promoting, etc, and I have a couple hundred collections and 130k views.

The site favors specific things, and I'm not convinced that quality writing or consistency of updates is what truly matters.

Clowniac I don't promote, I don't advertise, and I keep a low profile. I don't know how many collections or views I have and I don't care. Probably close to zero. That's fine with me.

Even with so little readers, I get flamed and receive so many one-star reviews. I dread to think what will happen if I get more readers or views. I'll probably get a hundred one star reviews telling me to kill myself, to leave the site, or to quit writing everyday.

I find it shocking that you're having such a terrible experience. I'm very sorry to hear that! My experience has been pretty much universally positive. Is your writer name the same as your forum name? If so, I wanna check your stuff out.
