I have been writing a book on and off for years. I would love to share it, but I don’t want to make money with it or have it sold as someone else’s work. Has anyone seen anything about where you can have their work copyrighted?

There is always risk of that happening or getting you ideas stolen. Even posted on other site. It depends if you doing for purely joy and don't care too much. But if you want to publish this story on a real publishing house then I do not recommend it. They usually don't prefer to give contract to already public stories that you can find on the Web.

LakotaPhoenix go to Royal Road and go to their copyright section you will find something but its paid stuff, though Webnovel do provide same thing for free, I don't believe its effective as you can find webnovel's novels everywhere.
