KiraAmor Sorry to ask, are you talking about website or apps? are you sure all those changes in apps is already done to the website? then why on apps, only show free limited reading while website don't have? and where did you watch the video? does it in PC Website/mobile site or the apps? or are you using emulator and install WN apps inside? if it is more than a year ago, where and why it is gone now in website? e-book is on apps, and website? have you seen comic section on apps? sometime they have some event or free comic (can count by finger) showed in apps, and website? Well, cant talk about privilege, collect point and time reading as both absolutely only for apps user and i dont bother on that.
I'm not always use their apps (the purpose only for multiple rewards and see what dev done for updating version), more comfortable using website. Sometime rely on their facebook group for free limited reading, if i remember on it.
Toje That sounds like a nightmare.... Using the app is bad enough (I hate the app), but putting it into a page-flipping mode? Who would want to do that? Scrolling is far more comfortable to me.
Of course, if I just use the app to flip through pages to collect coins and SS while not using it for reading, I guess that would work... I can just read on the PC like usual and use the app on the side to earn things. I can't stand reading on the app anyway.
Yuki_Qing I am talking pc site, the only spirit stones we got was through check in, power stone vote and energy stone vote all other privileges like video was removed 15 months ago or free reading etc is not even applicable hence nothing shows. Free reading is only if the author has put the book for free. Getting stones on reading time is not even there for pc users. Just a way for them to force people to use their apps, infact I tried to be a translator through a link they sent sometime back, it said will work only through app. I don't know how it matters to them all it should matter is the number of people using webnovel regardless of the mode, unless something shady through app and they want every individual to have it.

Thanks for the video info, we leave out the video thing as maybe cant do much at website. Just keep wondering, if their brother/sister website can do better, then why they can't learn from them. Oh, forgot, maybe different team, but still can learn something from them. Well, cant say they didn't do some improvement and learning from others. Fast pass is 1 improvement, new thing from WN, the concept same with other publisher.
Yuki_Qing I have downloaded the app and deleted it several times in the past because it's so buggy. I have the app on two devices at the moment, so I can still use it when one crashes if I need to get Spirit Stones. The only reason I downloaded the app is the get the Spirit Stones; I don't use it for anything else. The one I actually use to read things is the website. I hope they're not just counting downloads. The app is so screwed up, there should be several times more downloads of the app even if it has fewer users.
This morning, I noticed their were no Spirit Stones or coins under "Earn Rewards." Instead, it lists "Fast Pass" as the reward for everything that used to give SS before. Is this thing useful, or do I seriously need to prepare to drop all series but the top five in Webnovel while easing myself away from using the site?
ResidentialPsycho need to wait for their full version/announcement on that. Just check it now, wow, check in will received 1 fast pass. Did you read their announcement in notification? suspect they want to differentiate thing.

KiraAmor ...you do know what fast pass is for, right? Each fast pass unlocks a single chapter. So you can unlock 3 chapters.
All you can read is "nothing"? Are you sure? Normally you can only unlock 2 chapters with 15 coins (maybe 1 if each chapter costs 9-13 coins, especially the comics), but with 3 fast pass, you can unlock 3 chapters, and you're complaining about being able to read more? Seriously?
Ok, I have a big bug here that I want someone to explain to me. In my application in Google play, in the reading minutes, it's 5 ss stone. In my computer when I enter it, it's write 10 coins. But 1 coins = 1 ss.....so now it's weird
KiraAmor for my view, fast pass is good, as it fair too.. 1 fast past can unlock 1 chapter regardless how many word / long/short chapter inside.. This is same concept with other publisher.. So for me it fair.. Even expiry is same concept.. My only concern now is, once unlock will forever unlock or otherwise.
Might get what you means, it not enough cz your library have many novels inside

Tomoyuki see if you read the books with 7 coins each chapter then yes fast pass is excellent. So compared to 15 coins it allows you to read 1 more chapter. Great! But if you don't follow those novels, let's say I read something with 1 or 2 coins per chapter cost in that case for me 5 coins are more valuable than 1 fast pass. It depends on the novel you read. For you it feels fair for me it doesn't, as simple as that. I do understand though what you are conveying.

KiraAmor Uh, which story only costs 1 or 2 coins per chapter? From my knowledge, minumum is 5 - spirit stones costs are calculated based on length, and a chapter costs 1 spirit stone/coin for every 200 words.
Minimum number of words a premium author can publish per chapter is 1,000 words if I remember the restriction or rules. So your premium chapters will always cost a minimum of 5 spirit stones.
KiraAmor I can tell you from personal experience that contracted authors are not allowed to publish premium chapters that are less than 1,000 words long. Since prices are calculated based upon length, a 1,000-word chapter should cost you 5 spirit stones minimum.
Maybe it must be one of the older novels before they put the restriction in place. But yeah, a strategic use of Fast Pass is necessary - obviously you would want to spend it on the more expensive chapters (or webcomics). One of the best ways is to get maybe 2 fast passes for the longer chapters on the PC site by voting with power and energy stones, then go to your phone app and get 10 spirit coins from checking in and multiplier. So you get the best of both worlds. Or 3 fast passes and 5 spirit stones (multiplier). Entirely up to you.

It's tempting to get the app for coins let alone other privileges, but I don't download apps on my phone not even FB..! So :( ...sigh

BettyChan KiraAmor I thought the Fast Passes expired in a week, which is much faster than what the SS did. Are you saying the expiration means a chapter gets locked again if it was unlocked with a Fast Pass?
EDIT: I just looked at the announcement page again. It says the following:
"A Fast Pass can unlock a chapter (of any price). The chapter will REMAIN UNLOCKED FOREVER."
Fast Passes expire faster than Coins do, so it makes sense to use them first. The chapters remain unlocked just like they would when bought with SS or Coin. They stay unlocked, so anyone who wants to reread a good series on here can do so without having to unlock chapters all over again.
