Yep i agree as well

But why is it bad for them to push readers to buy coins instead of reading for free? They're a company, not a non-profit organization nor a charity, so of course, they would want to make profits.

And it's not like they totally took away the free rewards for the free readers, they just reduced them, because they want people who can actually afford to spend money to buy the coins, to do so, instead of profiting from the free rewards.

From a business perspective, I can see why they're doing this, and I think it's justified. But I agree with the OP that it needs to be communicated properly to the readers.

Just wish they make the ss cheaper. I can accept that translated ones is much expensive since profits are shared btwn WN/TL/Author but $1 gives you 600 “ss” in their china site.

Yeah, I've heard the pricing that their Chinese counterpart is offering is way cheaper than the one offered here, though I'm not sure by how much. if you said $1 = 600 SS there, I'll take your word for it.

I think the current WN's pricing strategy is aimed at readers living in NA/EU, although I suspect the demographics of their readers are mostly South (East) Asians.

        So something did definitely change?!

Cantiara But where’s our coin balance at? How are we supposed to know how many we have? How do we even use them? We’re supposed to be able to buy vouchers with them but there’s absolutely nothing in the voucher store? I’m clueless.

Hmm, I think I understand it a bit more now.

            • Coins is just the new name of spirit stones. Same thing, different names. But coins are not the same as points.

            • You can purchase coins in the same way you purchase spirit stones. But you can't purchase points.

            • Points are meant for those who don't want/can't afford to purchase coins.

            • In order to unlock a chapter or gift a content contributor, you will still need to use coins. But if you don't want to purchase coins, you can still get them by farming for points. You can later use the points that you farmed to redeem coins or vouchers at the store.

            Confusing, no? 😕

@WEBNOVEL_OFFICIAL , please correct me if I'm wrong.

As to why we can't use the voucher store yet, not sure... Maybe this is not the latest app version for this new concept. There'll probably be more updates in the near future.

              Thousand_Sunny

Yeah, coins is just the new term for SS.

And you only get points from the farming mode. I guess. Still waiting for @WEBNOVEL_OFFICIAL to confirm if what I concluded was right, which is probably just wishful thinking from my part, since they hardly ever respond...

coins and points are two totally different things. you gain points by reading certain novels (probably comics too, I don't read the comics so I'm not sure) from what I've seen so far, of my 30 ish books in my library only two of them give points for reading them. (Haven Online and Curse the Mainframe!) every few pages I get a popup ad that's worth a point or two. (apparently this point amount can change depending on how much you read, but IDK if that's correct.)
you can then take your points and purchase vouchers or coins with them. BUT it takes 500 points for 50 coins. and 20,000 points for a 7 day site wide voucher. There's also a voucher to reduce the coin cost for X amount of days, and a few other kinds of vouchers. I'm guessing this is the voucher system they were referring to. :)

EDIT: the 50 coins for 500 points was removed. I'm sure there were other changes too, so you'll have to check to see the rewards. <3

1 coin = 1 SS for the conversion, but I noticed you don't get the bonuses when you buy coins like you did when you bought SS. So, while we didn't lose in the conversion, coins will be a bit more expensive, unless they've lowered the price of chapters or they change something (like adding bonus coins) in the future.
