Cantiara As for me, because I like to keep my work area organized by topics. Chrome for writing, etc, Edge for reading. Also, how could I be aware of all unnecessary news in the world if the front page of edge hasn't the opportunity to throw it in my face?

    lol, fair enough.

I'm a web developer, and every time I hear someone is still using IE, I just go into an evangelist mode, lmao. Because from a developer's perspective, IE just sucks. It is THE problem child. Developing websites on it totally sucks because it's always full of "exceptions", never really complies with standards, especially newer ones, which means we, website makers, have to write special codes just to accommodate IE usage, which also means double maintenance, which also means a waste of, I dunno, 20-30% of development time which can be used on new features or quality improvements. And don't get me started if there's a bug on IE, just like this one, we're forced to debug it in a very very very -can't stress this enough- bad developer tools.

Of course, for a user, it's all subjective. I just thought to share the perspective of a developer, and hopefully could persuade you and other IE users to consider using another browser, which is more decent than IE.

Sorry, couldn't stop myself from trying... 😅

Cantiara Uhnnn Google is paying you to say it, I bet.🤣
      (kidding, of course)
And well, I understand your pain, as sometimes I just wish to make a Worpress site to look right on that damn Edge. My only justificative to use Edge (too) for minor things is not having to scrabble through my 370 tabs on Chrome or accidentally closing some while trying to reach a site.

Tomoyuki 👍 Personally, my favorite too. It has great developers tools.

Cantiara Ten years ago, Firefox was my favorite. Right now, there's something wrong with it, its SLOWWWWW and its private browsing is lame. Chrome is nice (with the comfort of getting to log in in almost everything with a single login, btw) but it consumes a lot of RAM, c'mon 1Gb for some tabs?! Opera... Never bothered, a bit buggy last time I tried. Edge, I can't defend it, but I don't hate it either.

Chrome uses a lot of RAM indeed, but all for good reasons, it's to make your site loads faster :D
And RAM high usage is not necessarily bad because it means your computer is doing its job. If it isn't being used, then you're not really benefitting from your computer's short-term memory. If it's too high, you can always find out which tab or extension is taking up the most RAM, and close it.

Oh, you said you have 300+ tabs open. Dear God, why soooo many? If you have a lot of tabs open, I suggest you to look at extension like The Great Suspender. It suspends tabs after they're inactive for a certain period of time. You'll still have it open in your taskbar, and you can always go back to them with one click, although it'll take a bit longer to load since it will have to load from scratch.

Your Firefox is probably slow because of the same problem too. If you have so many tabs open, it uses too much CPU or RAM. Not sure if there's a similar extension for Firefox as the one I mentioned above, but if there is, you can always try it and see if it improves the performance.

Of course, you can always use Edge, don't feel pressured by me. 😅

In the end, it's really about your personal preference. Don't mind us, web developers, even though it's annoying to debug IE, it's still our job and we're being paid a generous amount of money for doing our job. And I gotta say, although I still loathe IE, but Edge is at least much better than all of its predecessors.

I have the same issue in clicking on the daily mission button. Takes me straight to the profile page.

Cantiara Well, not really 370, but enough to make me lose track of them. And, all good advice from experts are to be taken into consideration, thank you.
I'm amazed at the fact that you REALLY loathe IE and dedicate time to spread awareness hahaha
If you feel it's hell, let me tell you I am forced to use Teams, Planner, One Drive, Outlook and Sharepoint at my work. Perhaps that's why I use Edge too.
Secretly I use other things to make my workflow better, such as Dropbox, Quire and Mailspring, but I can't change corporation mindset about their budget.

SrtaA True, that's also one of the reasons why we still have to support IE. If there are still more than 1% of users that uses it, then we'll have to keep supporting it. There are still plenty of corporations that are using legacy Microsoft frameworks and don't want to spend their budgets to revamp their office tools or make them compatible with non-IE browsers.

Hehe, ask any other web developers around, they'll tell you they hate IE. Seriously, none of us like it lol. Even @dapenggaofei probably thought, "Shit, not again," when he read the part where the OP wrote "I use internet explorer" lmao. Oops, sorry @dapenggaofei .

my Microsoft Edge have the same problem, and vote in the rankings doesn´t work neither (from a long time ago)

ps: i use both edge and chrome. but webnovel i normally read using edge... =_=
