When I saw a pretty known male author who usually stands by not giving a shit for romance 'gifting' a romance novel, I realize it's another of their " let's unethically exploit it".
I disabled my notifications and still keep receiving these messages. That's forceful and offensive in many ways.

Unfortunately, even turning off notifications, we still receive these messages in our inboxes, which is disrespectful to say the least....

They won't stop because it's promised that when you gift a castle or spacecraft the book will get some seconds of exposition ( click the gift and you'll see which benefits it ensures to the book). But, of course they can't force so many banners at the opening of the app.
If I'd like to ensure my book would earn total exposition I'd buy myself a castle or create fake accounts to do it. But I'm too cheap for this strategy... They are testing the limits of human patience before turning off all the notifications of an app.

I know some of these names, too, but I won't say I know them personally. If one of these authors comes here and says he/she donated a 100 bucks worthy castle that is not bonus coins to a random novel, and explain to me why, I'll believe him/her, though. I know some authors earn a lot here, but 100 dollars tips are not common even for rich people, just saying.
As I said, unless it's made of bonus coins worth nothing, a single person (not an author, by the way, but one of those untraceable accounts), donated 2 castles to a single book in a matter of minutes... Sorry, but I can't believe it.
Right now, I just think it's the system using their usernames and they just don't care because it's not their money.Anyway, Webnovel, please stop it. It's weird and tasteless.
I just can't believe it's real.
Perhaps if people start flooding their helpdesk demanding to turn off they'll understand it's just intrusive.

Not really a good thing to be advertised as the author getting castles of coins. People tend to grow resentful and suspicious of this type of marketing. If it's not made out of bonus coins, it's frigging 100 bucks. Is there a lot of generous whales out there, right? Throwing 100 bucks at novels as if they were confetti.
And... There is another thing that bugs me on it.
I mean, I was really surprised and glad when my novel earned a nice expensive gift (and even more thrilled when a reader sent me my first and generous kofi). But ALL gifts are worthy.
The old 5 coins balloon was worthy. This reader took a part of their little stash of coins to give me out of their generosity. But WN makes it look like only 5000 coins are "worthy".
Not every reader can donate 5000 coins at once.
What if readers start to think their little gifts aren't showy enough? It's really annoying and the purpose of flexing a novel has wealthy fans is not really clear to me. Is Webnovel trying to make people feel bad for not having 5000 coins to spare gifting his/her favorite novel?
Why do I, as a reader should be interested to know that user @XXXprettyflower15 donated 5k coins to his/her favorite novel? A random novel I don't even have in my library? Why should I be notified about it?
As feedback, it's the "more annoying" form of promoting a novel ever @webnovelofficial.@MichelleLeeee can you do something about this spammer, please?

@Zero2567 there are newer threads with this information, check the pinned threads for instance. This thread is too old.
@Grand_Void_Daoist necroAnd no, they didn't think of making a list of the authors you favorited somehow.

Hm, that advert... Nevermind that, it's not always related to your favorite authors. Mostly probably you never heard of them. Just a generic advert with books of trending authors.
Well, you can search the author's name and check all his books...
