I haven't gotten any of the store points from reading the specific titles that give them.

Supposedly it's dependant on ads. And if you live in an area that never seems to have ads available to view (like me), you're outta luck.
I have a large library and dozens of the books I have on hold give points lol. It's based on time and progression the more time you put and read the more points you get
