Tags & Markdown Forum Guide
Your friendly normal guide for curious users.
Explanation of Tags
What are tags?
Tags are how threads are categorized on this forum. When you are creating a new thread (by clicking on the blue "Start a Discussion" button), you can choose to tag your post with the proper topics to make your thread easy to find/categorize. You can tag your post with three main tags, and a few side ones. Below, I'll be explaining the main tags.
(You can also view all of the tags here)
For threads talking about novels. Novel Recommendations is a tag that falls under this main tag as well. It's fairly self-explanatory.
This is for threads discussing the latest chapters of novels. Self-explanatory again.
The SS refers to coins, now that WN changed the spirit stones' name to coins. If you bought coins and had some sort of error, you can make a thread with this tag.
You can check out the official WN thread for this topic too, here.
If you encountered some bug/glitch/error through your experience on WN, you can create a thread with this tag and report it like this.
Tags under this main tag include: iOS, Android, PC Site, Mobile Site, Mobile Beta, Forum, Inkstone, Confirmed, Need More Information, Fixed. You can tag your thread with these smaller tags too depending on your issue, but the last three tags are probably for the admins/developers to mark your thread once they deal with the bug.
Self-explanatory. You can either make a thread here, or use the comments/paragraph comments to report it on the actual story itself!
If you're tagging your post with Novel Discussion or Latest Chapter Discussion, you should probably also tag it with this topic since it's likely to include spoilers. This is to let people know there are spoilers in this thread!
Any questions can be tagged with this topic, or threads related to questions. Self-explanatory.
This is a tag if you want to find Sunny, a content editor for WN. This description thread describes this tag further if you're interested.
If you have suggestions to let WN improve their platform, you can tag your thread with this!
If there's a novel that you would like WN to translate, you can create a thread with this tag and request it. Do note that WN only translated novels they have the copyright to, so the novels you suggest must be from Qidian.
This tag is just for carefree discussion, almost like a miscellaneous tag, but also for chatting/conversations.
If you want to vent your hatred and rant, this is the proper tag.
This should be the tag that @WEBNOVEL_OFFICIAL uses/or any other individual representing WN. Normal users shouldn't have a reason to tag their post with it.
If you want to start any events/discuss any events, this is a good tag to use. Smaller tags that fall under this one include "Chinglish" Diary, Stories, and Election.
These are not a part of the main tags, but Book Recommendations is self-explanatory. It should be used to recommend. WPC is for Writing Prompt Contest, which is a bi-weekly contest that WN hosts.
Overall, please refrain from tagging your post with the wrong tags! (e.g. if you're complaining about the amount of free coins you can get, this is not a post that should be tagged with Failure to Buy SS)
According to the rules of the forum,
- The forum could be searched by tags, so please try to post with the appropriate tags. If a discussion is better fitted with another tag, the admin have the right to re-tag it.
Thus, let's try to tag everything correctly. :sparkling_heart:
