Webnovel disappointed me this time around.
All this changes is only for their own benefit not minding us readers...
What about us that can't afford coins? Should we stop reading?
Can't they make the benefits to be mutual?
At least give us a way out to get little coins without disrupting what you gain. Pls webnovel, I have always liked you since I started but now I don't have a choice than to stop reading since I can't afford to read my favorite novels because of coins
Cry of help... I'm a poor girl who likes webnovel
uckayla You get three Fast Passes a day, enough to read 3 chapters. Don't become a crack (chapter) addict. What's more, you can read those novels that have Farming enabled and earn points by watching ads. Those points can then be converted into more Fast Passes, and other useful Site-Wide Reading Vouchers. If you need Coins so badly, you can always try Inviting some friends to the dark path (Webnovel). And as queenfern said, well...
uckayla do the classic 10 accounts trick.
Works everytime!
Same here why can't they gain benefits equally...

Do you read on a phone? If so, have you checked out the [Free] button of the [Novel] section on the [Featured] tab of the Webnovel App. Lots of free stuff to read. Zero coins to spend.
I have a contracted story that I've decided to keep for free for artistic reasons. A lot of us writers keep our stories free for reasons of being able to focus on quality rather than quantity.
Half the Webnovel catalog is filled with free-to-read stories. If you want to read completed free stories. the [Free] tab also has a [completed] section.
You could balance free stories in-between fast pass or free coin uses on premium chapters.
Enlightened_Lord why can't i do this anymore. I couldn't find the option of signing out then in again that will enable me to choose which account to use?

I feel like a lot of the free novels end up being better reads than the contracted ones. The main issue is that they aren't pressured to release quickly, so they end up being on the shorter side.
I turned down a contract for mine, because I really don't have the time to write at that pace. The pay from my day job dwarfs anything they can offer me, so writing for fun/quality is where I'm going to stay.

Historical BL comedy, Oh My Fate, is an example of a quality free read. Author receives her money from Patreon for her later volumes. Her first volume is here to read for free. It has over 1M views and ranks on the power votes charts.

Don't want to turn this into a plug thread. Just giving examples of quality free reads here.
Another underrated free read. The Dorm Guard. It has good grammar, good character design and that feel good, team bonding kind of feeling.
So, if one wants to really read for free, Webnovel has options for this.

Veronica8 The Alterra Project <~~~ Insert shameless self plug here
LordSputnik hmm. You mentioned Monty Pythons. I just finished watching Life of Brian. Okay. I'll give it a go.
I agree. I uninstalled the app back then once they cancelled the subscription services. They say don't be a chapter addict, but I'm a fast reader. With the subscription service I can enjoy 30 days of non stop reading, free to drop novels at that time. I could be around 200+ chapters in but I can drop it because the plot is turned out to disappointing. I can't do that with coins :((
Veronica8 That's indeed a good quality read :grinning: I'm pretty sure it's up to seventh volume here on Webnovel though. If I remember right, Patreon is a few chapters ahead, but it's definitely getting updated daily here too~
