The final two chapters of The Ultimate Evolution are behind the privilege paywall and there's no sign they'll ever be released. 7 days and nothing. Qidian and the translator's greed knows no bounds.
Ultimate Evolution last chapters behind privilege paywall
Yeah.
Quitting webnovel cause of that.
Asking friends to do the same.
Gonna buy real books, better spent money.
Good luck qidian, hope your shitty economic system will make you collapse
To be fair this problem isn't a webnovel allowed one, generally when a book is completed all privledge chapters should go premium but it's the AUTHOR/TRANSLATOR that has the responsibility to report the ending of their work.
While many do live by the system theres certain ones that seem to consistently 'forget' they're suppose to let webnovel know that the book is ending, or include an open ended clause so they can never return to it but claim 'it's not finished'.
Just a matter of blacklisting those authors works so it doesnt happen more than once. Can also try tagging webnovel support and reporting the book/author so they can forcibly release the chapters.
Hitting this with a bump so that hopefully this can all be resolved and everyone can finish reading a great novel! Without having to pay of course!
Darth_Xiane Most groups have completed the translations weeks or months ago if the book reaches completion and aren't keeping a look out for the books.
It's also a bigger issue with original works, translations are alot easier to see as done cause hey the source material is there for anyone to reference, but original works... all you need is one greedy shameless jack off and the story becomes 'is it done or is it a hiatus'?
Take ero saints Profane Prince of Domination, privledge buyers have stated for months that the book has ended in the last 10 pay walled chapters yet that author is still availing of privledge and getting scam readers that haven't checked the comments of the last available premium chapter.
Darth_Xiane It's obviously to all but the hopelessly deluded that Qidian at a minimum has tacitly endorsed this unethical behavior.

It's not so simple. There are multiple scenarios. The author might go on a hiatus and the translator catches up. Is that a completed status or what?
The translator is fast and the author is slow but still consistent. Do we automatically set to Completed when the translator catches up to the "last" chapter available?
There is actually an automatic mechanism that IF no new chapter is released for 30 days, Privilege chapters will be released on a daily basis, but most people don't even wait 30 days before they complain, and I bring it up to Webnovel that this book is completed.
To know whether something is completed, it needs a manual check, and with hundreds of translated works out there, it will be a waste of manpower to check everything manually. Don't forget, you will need to compare with the raws to see if it's on hiatus, really completed or what. It's on the translator to inform Webnovel that the book is completed and some groups just forget the book once they finish translating it (perhaps months before the final chapter is released for the masses).
