i’ve been checking new books today and I saw that, from what I think are translated novels, most of them are locked starting Chapter 9. The novels all have more than 100 chapters each but costs 6-8 coins only.
I’m hoping this is a bug because if it isn’t, Webnovel is too much.
I mean, seriously? Only 8 free chapters?

      Juicy_Lemon So, I checked all the books and it seems that all of them are Korean novels translated to English. Since Korean novels are shorter (100-300-ish chapters) than their Chinese counterparts (700-ish-3000-ish), they might have locked them earlier for that reason. Moreover, Webnovel's parent company, Qidian, probably does not own the copyrights to those books, and only has licensed translation rights. Since the works belong to another company, the company that owns them probably also put some restrictions, including but not limited to, how much free content Webnovel was allowed to offer.

      But all of the above are just my thoughts and should be ignored in the real world.
