In my spirity entry, I got plenty of comments who for some reason I suspect as BOTS. There are some reasons for my suspicion which I will list below.

1) Their account level is either 5 or 6 but they only have Cultivator Badge
They don't even have the Endeavour badge or the other basic badges which every reader of WN has.
2) Their names are just a mixture of words and numbers which doesn't make sense
3) The history of their account only dates from a week ago, but their accounts have been created during October or November 2018.
4) I get some collections the moment after I upload a chapter (For my spirit novel) which I suspect are the BOTS. For all my other books, I get collections randomly. Though, this points need further verification.
5) The comments they use...all are the same. they probably have like 30 sentences that they use everywhere...across many books (All spirit entries probably since they are new books)
The following are some of the BOT comments that I have found to be in repeated use. Please take note:

Not bad, this story needs more chapters though!
Are you updating soon? I'm checking your novel every day!
Read the start and it's quite addictive!
Please don't say you're gonna drop this, it's so good!
Author do a good job! please don't drop
When is next chapter? Looking forward to it!
Dropping by for a look, staying for the book!
Just wanted to say this story is really great. Author, you da best!
Are you dropping this book? Please don't (I've seen this comment sometimes in the first chapter of some books...kinda curious right)
Author, are you okay? Why did you stop updating?
Added to my library, will wait for more chaps before I start reading
This is an awesome story, author, you have my vote!
Plz don't drop

These are just some of the bot comments, there are more. I just looked at the history of the suspected bots, and I saw these same comments...wort-by-word in many books, by different bots. Having used WN for more than 2 years, I know the comment styles of WN readers, from the intelligent ones to the brain dead ones. And these, though they follow the trend, are different, vague, and general. They are no way related to the chapter posted. I just want to say, that I am getting kinda scared by the influx of these new bots.

I have never trusted the views in WN till date since the site is accessed by many bots to steal the content posted here. At least, my collections and comments were by real readers that gave me happiness as an author. Now, I am not sure anymore. If this keeps up, I will stop believing the comments of my readers. Moreover, this has only happened in my spirity book. None of my other books face this issue (even my WPC entry that I started 4 weeks ago hasn't faced such an issue.) leading me to believe that these BOTS only target the spirity entries.

**I hope WN takes action against this soon. I Will send a complaint to their customer care, sigh.

I'm getting this as well. I've reached a point where I've stopped responding to comments on my spirity entry because of it.
    @Veronica8
I have a feeling they're mostly appearing in spirity entries rather than specific categories but I can't be for certain until we get more info from other people.

Almost all my book has some of these comments which you have mentioned. And there were 2 comments which is same and almost at the same time from two different accounts.

I normally do update a chapter per day on all my books but every time I see comments that says your updates are slower! I will add it to my library and if the author continues then will read it!!

All these comments really had great impact on me... I became a zombie few days back and was writing till 4 Am in the morning just to satisfy my readers by giving them more chapters...

But after posting those chapters, I don’t see any comments anymore... I even have doubts if anyone actually read my story at all!

It seems a lot of other books have experience this too. When was the first strange comment peeps noticed? I wonder if it was specifically when spirity started.

@WEBNOVEL_OFFICIAL not sure if you'll see this. Taking a long shot. A few books are experiencing a new form of scrapper bot that might be trying to mirror the site. If you see this post, are you able to look into?

Overlord_Venus almost a week? Wow, and i had yet to notice it yesterday.
And yes almost the same in my case.

Is this some kind of unhealthy motivation for writers to boost the platform by keeping their work process on during this contest?

I am not that technically enlightened to understand all these bot-stuff, but it makes me kind of worry and upset because I didn't even start my entry for the contest yet.

Though I noticed that many top-writers made their entries. They have big fan bases already so I am not sure whether it will be noticed on their works among other readers' comments.

Overlord_Venus I don't think the bots are targeted towards Spirity Entries. My story personally was not, and I found them on another person's novel that wasn't an entry either.

Overlord_Venus I just realized that some of comments on my old story was from bots. And here I was feeling good about having readers:(

from your post, I come to one conclusion:
this comment are probably from webnovel bots to encourage orginal author. it's dirty move, but kind of understandable.
