KoraL Stockholm syndrome? .-.
CCmei Ahahahha I know what you're talking about with the dramas
Daoist_Zheng Yeah they're pretty predictable but honestly super long???
MokouFriedChicken ahahahaha yea
@islinda Wasn't going to reply to this post initially (sorry I was really lazy ;-;) but saw your response about how you had a really rough week last week and just wanted to tell you to feel better! Honestly, I don't think I would still be writing here if it weren't for you. Like even if I did, I don't think that I would have stayed true to my original intentions if it weren't for all your encouragement. I'm not a super expressive person when writing these, but I just wanted to say thank you soooo much - Like honestly you're the best. You just have so much character and are just so chill??? You literally single-handedly broke all the stereotypes of content editors that I had in mind lolol
@limqianyu Thank you so much for bearing with my stupid questions about everything ;-; Like thank you for being endlessly patient with me and answering everything super thoughtfully! You're honestly super sweet and kind. Honestly I don't know how you do it. If I were you I probably would have told me to scram off by like the second dumb question I asked. Thank you sooo much for all your support! -
CCmei I'm sorta dead after reading this ahahahhaa but got it -

Mai0414 LOL Wait they are? With the mafia I mean? 0.0
neaht3 Omi that sounds sorta scary .-.
CailinMatthews Woahhhhh that's like the clash of the century XD
PauLaa I super love reading stories about older couples but haven't found any on here (completely unrelated but do you have any good recs for those ;-;) But I'll definitely try to read some to get a better grasps of the stereotypes (just a lot of them are locked and idk how much I'm willing to invest for them)
yiyuehua Oof that's sorta rough 0.0
Wait I totally forgot about the car accident tyty -neaht3 Ohhh oki I'll see if there's a way to hint at something along those lines
SrtaA LOL I'm actually dead reading this. You're totally right - But oof about that other story
neaht3 I think it's hard to escape from certain things entirely because people's notions of "romance" are in general pretty similar. But the idea of these cliches is a bit too much rip .-. And also isn't blackmailing technically illegal?
john_john_OO Got it thanks -
RachelRuth Ohhhh oki tyty -
Hi! I've been trying to write a new satire CEO romance that counters some common cliches. But honestly, I don't really read CEO novels to begin with so I just wanted to gather some common tropes that people use. So far I have the following list, but please give some ideas of what are some things that somehow always show up in those stories. Thanks! -
Note: This post is mostly for research purposes (am not trying to offend anyone or any works that have the properties listed below). I just genuinely don't read stuff from this genre so am trying to get a sense of other tropes.
- The first man introduced in the story will most likely be the ML
- Usually starts with an accident like spilling coffee on the ML
- CEO is ice cold to anyone but the FL
- CEO is usually insensitive, possessive, jumping pretty quick to conclusions when involving the FL
- Rape? Justified? As? Love????
- Face slapping
- FL is pretty much a white lotus with no background experience but can land a super good job in a high-end company
- Nice and understanding second ML but is just a backup
- Super mean and manipulative second FL whose sole life goals are to marry the ML
- CEO can ignore major business deals to celebrate the FL's bday or something along the lines
Sally112425 Wait Islinda is super chill. She's not really my assigned content editor, but she's super funny and helpful when you talk to her. Lowkey my go to lolol
Lychee, loquats, and tangerines! -
Gourmet_DAO Awww thank you so much <3
Gourmet_DAO Wait super random but thank you so much 0.0 I'm actually so touched rn ;-;
aswalz It's really more of what the market dictates. Like if you actually wanted to make a name or living from writing on here, it's really difficult to do so when there is much less demand for the stories you are describing as "non-cliche."
- In Question
Gourmet_DAO I think it is completely possible for you to still interweave the initial idea into a new chapters. Your strengths are your description, but I do agree that subtly tying in new action arcs will make the story pop a bit more. Maybe using a different volume in which you base it off the original would help?
[unknown] Wait you came up with the title and the background for the cover -.-
Bruh all I did was change your ancient font -______-
ALSO THE BOOK IS GREAT DON'T LISTEN TO HER SHE'S BLIND
Crocodile Tears
Ahahhahaah sorry you don't have a choice. There's only one ML in the story. He may not be husband material, but he IS your husband (rip Youshi's arranged marriage).
Also, sorry for the super long texts ;-; He's sorta complex so couldn't really condense it kekekekek
