I’m writing a story about a young man that became a demon in a weird way. So I have most of the plot outlined up to around chapter 500 but what I’m scared of is falling into clichés or making my character sound like a hypocrite. Does anyone have tips on having a character seemed focused but not one dimensional.

Ps. I want to have him be flirty, focused, possessive, Greedy, strong, elegant, and taciturn but I don’t want him to be like that at the beginning I want life to change him slowly but Surely. If anyone one know how to or can help I would appreciate it!

HiDemon Goals and motivations. Stakes and challenges.

Set these for every character. Then see how each characters goal supports or blocks another. You'll be able to workout an antagonist with this method.

All character goals and stakes need to align to the story goals/stake, which works the story to the final outcome.
