Last Night I found a file I did some time ago. It was a story I started. It was about a guy named Kyle who met up a girl who he knew in school named Bri. Bri was a girl that attended some special needs classes with him in middle school. However, her mom got her into this illustrious study girls-only program. Her grades have improved and she was taken out of the special needs classes. Once the two get to high school, Bri is already an over-achiever. However, she starts to use feminism and social justice as a platform to bully and attack anyone she doesn't particularly like. Kyle was one of her targets. In fact, she spreads some rumors, forcing him to transfer.
Now that they're young adults, Bri asks him out and they start dating. However, she later accuses him of raping her. After a long drawn out trial where the odds are stacked against him, he's found innocent. However, people are not satisfied with the verdict, and so Kyle becomes subject to a witch hunt. Bri explains, more so brags, that she planned this all along. She intended to use Kyle to attract media attention and become some social justice hero. At the end, Kyle commits suicide because his life has been ruined.
As you can see, the theme was gonna be about how feminism and social justice can be used for personal gain, and the damage that can do. It's something I believe in strongly. I started the story, but never got too far. It was just too dark for me, and I worried if it'd cause me to commit suicide.
I wanted to ask what anyone else thinks about this idea.
