Truthfully webnovel needs to pick better books to develop they could do so much better. Everywhere you turn on this app it’s a nonsensical book with the same old character development same old nonsensical cultivation mc with a weak plot who is impossible to relate too, how are you a beginner killing those far above your level it makes no sense. If it’s not that then it is a comedy there has been some great books that are completely ruined due to the excessive element of comedy like why it just upsets me I’m really just looking for a good read and all you can find on this app with so much potential are nonsensical books... give us books like: The human emperor, My house of horrors, Lord of mysteries, the ultimate evolution, Lord xue ying, The world online, supreme magus, Desolate era, warlock of magus world and many more Give us stuff of at least “ok” quality please

Absolutely nothing wrong with comedy...if you don't like it, fine, but why are you getting upset over it?

If I don't like romance, I don't run around bitching about it, I just read other genres and other books. I don't think anyone has the right to dictate what genres should be picked up and what genres should be condemned.

Idk what your exact tastes are but I can agree on some as I understand what you mean. Tags don't mean alot now so maybe try going for new books, dig around like continuously checking on recommended books after picking one. You might find hidden gems who knows and patiently scan through self promoted books from budding writers. It's worth a try.

OzzWorld So you're after something with a bit more realism, and where characters progress in the story to stakes and goals?

Like an MC who is overpowered, but so is his/her challenges. And because MC's overpowered, they're responsible for far great consequences that can destroy livelihoods. They change others whether they like it or not. In doing so, change themselves. MC decisions and actions that cause a ripple effect, moving the story into complex, unique and meaty plot angles.

Hmm, if so, not sure where you'd be able to read it here that isn't Lord of the Mysteries, and maybe even Omniscient Reader.

Well, here is a story where the MC was trying to fight for the greater good of humanity, which was about to get extinct under other strong clans: demon clan, god clan, time clan, and monster clan.
So, he was judged to enter a trial, a fair trial, where he and his enemies would compete, and this happens due to an old prophecy which predicted all of this.
so he got reincarnated, but his enemies manipulated everything, so he lost most of his memories, power, and even personality. as a result he became an idiot, an idiot that failed four times in reincarnation until he reached the fifth and final one where a side character decided to give him a help.
her interference made a butterfly effect, which was enough to change his doomed destiny and set him right on the track that the prophecy said, he started to become stronger, regained his former identity as a necromancer, and started to roam multiple universes and even parallel worlds to fulfill the prophecy.
He became OP, but he always pressed by his enemies, who were more ready than him, attacking many places where he can't reach, so some other side characters appears to help him here.
It's a complex story with multiple deep plots, game elements, kingdom building, even cultivation exist. character development are processed step by step, and it's done logically.
anyway, if you like this sort of novel, you can search for mine by the name: Rioneed. it's now in 430 chapters and still going. the current chapters are divided into five different paths for five different characters in five different universes, some are game, some are kingdom building, and others are cultivation.

Don't say like that, there're a lot of potentially good books with bright prospect and absolutely better than those that get selected. Here is a problem, webnovel is bloodsucking company who looks at the potential income and let the novel in the trial get to vote based on financial gain only. Somehow, trashy novels get better net paying and always look better for those short sight management policy and retaining the customers who preferred these to pay for trashy novel and not bother much about the literature quality. This lefts me and you to futily complain in the forum.

Ps. Evidences? Peerless Garbage System get selected while many great one didn't.
Ps.2 Bring back my 'Holy Roman Empire' for god's sake.

Tomoyuki lol my bad I just couldn't find a proper novel to read after searching across multiple platforms, it's not that I don't enjoy comedy it's just that majority of the time the authors try to include certain books with the comedy element and it ruins it. if they know how to use it then great but if not it really gets to me.

ranmaro Ranmaro, I will check this book out, I swear if this book can satisfy my thirst I will be donating money to you, and if you're interested I am willing to pay 100usd if u pick up a novel like dark king, lord of the mysteries or castle black iron but without the harem just a good steady book with nice character development, or any apocalypse books. well honestly from you can continue on with great books I will be a supporter who gives money lol.

OzzWorld That's fair enough. I think you're referring to books where the comedy is done poorly, rather than the genre itself.

I understand that. It's utterly boring reading the same stories over and over again. However I think it's a two way street most readers can't grasp the deeper context and so writers stick to a simple boring plot and that's why it's all light novels here. Finding a story with a deep context is difficult but as a suggestion I did come across Lord of the Aldari. So far it's good and the wording puts it on another level. It's an interesting read and it's not a system or cultivation which is a relief.

I almost blurted out but luckily, I saw your reply and stopped doing foolish thing.

But still, I hate the increasing number of typical CEO ROMANCE FEMALE LEAD NOVEL WITH RICH or POWERFUL WIFE SUPERSTAR etc.

Gosh. They're like a plague now. But still, nothing beats Mylittlebrother with his haremized entire godhood palace novel that topped the chart until now with more than 600 chaps. I can't brain people's desperation just like how I cant brain myself how is it possible for me to finish Library of Heaven Path with faceslapping combo.

yanglin They aren't my kind of thing, but if people like those kind of stories, I'm not going to judge them for it. I'll just read whatever I want and avoid what I don't like.

I think this one is a hidden gem and very different from any ordinary fantasy. It's not some simple romance either

but it has some modern criticism in it that's kind of interesting to read.
I saw this on Wattpad too and the author adds a little different details on the wattpad version with a different chapter there.
Webnovel readers are kind of set and typical. it's hard to find something new but I think this one is quite different
