Greetings to the users of this website, I am NK_Cruz. I write short stories, novellas, and various kinds of fan-fictions. I am planning to start another work but this time, on this website. Now, I was wondering if it would be legal to attach the logo of this website on my book cover. While I was scrolling through some novels yesterday, I found some books which has the logo--not the transparent ones but rather the logos in a jpeg format-- does this mean it is legal to do so?

By the way, I am new here. It would be an honor to meet other authors and readers! :)

Usually authors put the Webnovel logo on the covers of their contracted works. IMO, it helps against piracy... a bit. Like, a pirate website has one of my works with the old cover (without the webnovel logo). They also didn't update the chapters after I changed the cover.
I guess some use jpg files either because they aren't as skilled with image editors or because they wish contrast against the background and don't know a better way to do it... which is the same, in the end.
Not everyone knows the rules for applying a logo, or they really don't care.
For instance, I'm aware I should not reduce the Webnovel logo to the point its tagline is unreadable... But I did, after some people commented it was too big... I won't bother to explain it's cringy and kind of disrespectful.
Nobody cares, but the graphic designers.
And... If Webnovel GD team bothers about it, they should make a guide about their logo application available for their authors.

Veronica8 Nice to find alternates in vector quality! Thank you! 🤩
I was talking more about Guidelines such as 'don't resize under xx', 'don't change proportion', 'don't apply shadows and other effects', etc.
Not everyone know they shouldn't do those things.
