(no background as to why, because it got too long and I just wanna get straight to the point so I don't bore anyone)

Note: I know the title says proof reader but after going over it again, I've decided to ask about being an editor!

What if I offered a one time offer to edit a single chapter once in exchange for the person to vote for my novel with a certain number of powerstones? (6-9 powerstones for chapters under 2000 words, but if the chapter length is too long than naturally it'd require more work so I'd probably ask for more than that)
Would anyone be interested in this kind of a temporary offer. Which can only be redeemed by the first eligible person to respond to my post here on the forum? (NOT THIS POST, but in case I do make a post)

Let me know your thoughts on this!

Edit: DON'T SEND ME POWERSTONES RIGHT NOW. THIS IS A SUGGESTIONS POST. IF AND WHEN I DO THIS SORT OF EVENT I'LL TAG IT AS AN EVENT AND TO BE ELIGIBLE YOU'D HAVE TO REPLY TO THAT POST!

Edit 2: I'm planning on trying out this event soon. So If I do end up making a post it will be at 1:00 pm according to the GMT time zone. (13:00 GMT)

If you're not sure what time that will be in your country: just google (country name) time in GMT.

I'll be sure to list down the details for the eligibility and other things in the post itself so remember to read it carefully before participating!

itsmeTuba changed the title to Offering to be a proof reader..

itsmeTuba That's interesting, actually made me reply. Say, what if your skills are worse than the person who wrote the novel? Moreover, proofreading is not necessarily that useful (of course depending on how many votes you'd ask for). Editing would be much more valuable to people I'd say.

One chapter per however many votes you'd ask, right? I don't think one person would tilt the scales for you that much either. After all, you added the WPC tag, so it'd be for a contest. I'm sure some people would be happy to grab that chance. I surely don't use my voting stones, and there must be others like me. The question is, can you proofread better than those who wrote the novel itself?

itsmeTuba hey I just started a new novel the chosen totally sucks,
I can only give one powerstone a day so I will have to give you them over a course of 3 days

You're right I was thinking the same thing, people need editors more than proof readers.
First and foremost I'd check the person's account before accepting them, cause I wouldn't want to offer this kind of service to someone who is already capable of writing very well. Because after reading a particular diss thread on this forum I went on to read more and more original novels and I realised that there are a lot of original novels, even some of the novels with WN contract, that have really poor english. Naturally there are also good one's too. But since there is a bulk of them that would benefit from this kind of opportunity I think it's not unlikely to get a response.
But I just wanted to ask around before doing such a thing.

As for getting my novel voted to a very high point, yea maybe a few stones won't make too much of a difference but what's the harm in trying.
I'd probably not charge too many powerstones, maybe 6-9, something easy to give over two days or so for even a level 1 user. Especially since I'll only edit or proof read a single chapter once.

Thanks for your feedback. I'm not sure when I'll make the official post. But be on a lookout for it tomorrow or sometime later today!
Currently I'm only asking for suggestions so this isn't actually me offering yet.

Edit: I think you really jumped the gun there, I opened webnovel and you had already voted! And not even for the book I want.
I kind of mentioned it in the main post above that this is a suggestions post! This is kind of awkward for me now.
If you want I'll return the powerstone tomorrow by voting for whatever novel you want me to.

itsmeTuba I was only curious, but yes, people would benefit from even proofreading. Therefore, I think that's not a bad idea. Though, I'd charge more for that. Say 1000 word chapter will take you a while to read through and find typos. Charge more like 6 votes, would be my suggestion. No one pays to receive these stones anyway, they renew each day. In a way, they get a favour for a favour.

If you accepted more people, this could actually work for you. You could get a substantial amount of votes, even though you'd spend like a day on reviewing other people's works. Anyway, these are my thoughts. I'd say go for it, that alone will be an experience for you, and perhaps you will actually win the contest. Good luck.

DarkRay I see. You're right 2-3 seemed a little less to me too. But I was just thinking about it from the perspective of level 1 users. Now that I really think about it there are even many level 6 users who could use this kind of offer.
                Thanks for your feedback!

No I'm not a professional which is why I'm not planning on asking for powerstones per comment.

As for doing both, that is indeed something to think about. I'll consider it.

                    Pleasedeteme
I an arrange them both as separate events. Since I only plan on offering this to one participant who'd be selected.

SilentMild I mean that would get difficult for me. I'm not planning on doing this professionally or even regularly. This is just like a one time thing I'm planning.

I'm planning on trying out this event soon. So If I do end up making a post it will be at 1:00 pm according to the GMT time zone. (13:00 GMT)

itsmeTuba I have a degree in creative writing. I’m not looking to get paid for the editing I’m willing To do it for free as a chance to learn and work on foreign product for the lack of better words. I can tell there are a couple of great editors who have responded to this ad so if you go with them, then all the power to you. Like I said I am not looking to make money off this I am simply trying to help with grammar and writing of these novels and comics because the quality is very poor, and it’s becoming even worse by the day. So I’m not sure what way I can send you my contact information so that we can have a chat in case you haven’t picked someone yet, but please do respond if you are interested and we will go from there. Thank you 😊

try my novel and I will give you power stones for your novel.
