  • Hmm... Something's off here. I'd suggest a closer look, nothing else. No need to reply, I rarely visit this place. All the best.

    • Additionally

This thing gets to stay with full cap VIOLENCE tag and clearly woman "revealing" a bit of her cleavage, but this:

Is somehow not good? What the hell!? Also, my cover has a simple silhouette of a woman, that's all. You can't even see what woman it is! This is pure bs. Yea, I am angry. They simply censored my books for no reason. No matter for how many days.

    • They literally hid stories out of their scope, which can be considered censorship. Both of my stories had none of the mature tags. One is "General Audience" the other "Advised viewing" (but not 18+ content). In both cases, none contained any tags as they describe.

That is a problem to me, but a bigger problem? They will go under review, and need to hide stories massively? Dude, isn't that plain admission some things shouldn't exist on this website? I want my stories back to where they were published @WEBNOVEL_OFFICIAL Don't take down stuff without a reason, and a lot of novels were taken down without a reason.

    • itsmeTuba I was only curious, but yes, people would benefit from even proofreading. Therefore, I think that's not a bad idea. Though, I'd charge more for that. Say 1000 word chapter will take you a while to read through and find typos. Charge more like 6 votes, would be my suggestion. No one pays to receive these stones anyway, they renew each day. In a way, they get a favour for a favour.

If you accepted more people, this could actually work for you. You could get a substantial amount of votes, even though you'd spend like a day on reviewing other people's works. Anyway, these are my thoughts. I'd say go for it, that alone will be an experience for you, and perhaps you will actually win the contest. Good luck.

      • itsmeTuba That's interesting, actually made me reply. Say, what if your skills are worse than the person who wrote the novel? Moreover, proofreading is not necessarily that useful (of course depending on how many votes you'd ask for). Editing would be much more valuable to people I'd say.

One chapter per however many votes you'd ask, right? I don't think one person would tilt the scales for you that much either. After all, you added the WPC tag, so it'd be for a contest. I'm sure some people would be happy to grab that chance. I surely don't use my voting stones, and there must be others like me. The question is, can you proofread better than those who wrote the novel itself?

        • TheSleepingTadpole While I don't engage in discussions here anymore. I do check stuff out once in a while. There's something off about your statement I found.

TheSleepingTadpole I have been part of this platform and the writing community for roughly three years now while on occasion taking a hiatus or two for several months.

You made an account in Jan 2020, I checked, anyone can check. I'm not saying you couldn't be here as a ghost, but surely you didn't write here for "roughly 3 years", more like 5-6 months. Kinda smells like some sort of propaganda or something. Not saying your points ain't valid, just smell a whiff of bullshit about this.

Besides, writing that large statement just to leave, and on the forum, where readers don't usually appear en masse. Posting a "chapter" with such explanation would work much better for your readers. Just saying. Oh, but you ain't gonna reply, right?

          • Tomoyuki I'll give it to you once more. Like in the past, for old time sake. I was wrong, you were right. Have it your way, because I'm not interested in arguing with someone, who changes their stance immediately when I showed them the direct quote. I got everything I needed today, so thanks for that. You can continue whatever you were doing before.

            • Tomoyuki And you misrepresent my views again... I mean, is it that hard for you guys to read my post? Let me make it easy for you.

" I understand encouragement, and have nothing against it. Giving them false hope is a different story. (i.e. "unlike me, you will succeed" kind of thing)" <- isn't that a plain misrepresentation on your part? If you read, you wouldn't have to ask that question. Not everyone will succeed, not everyone can. That is why we have top 200 authors. Not everyone can be top 200. It's false hope telling people "you will succeed". No, you don't know if they will. A lot of them will not, because the top has limited amount of space.

"This forum changed a lot though... People hailing some sort of idols, and sucking up to them. Bunching up together to feel... safe? Better about themselves? I don't know. " <- not sure why you find this offensive, but alright. I mean, if you identify as such people, probably you could be offended. So, there. I spoke generally and hold my views. These are still my opinions.

"Remember that you have a freedom to write, but others have a freedom to criticise you (or tell you that you suck)." <- Yes, they do have a freedom and ability to tell others they suck. It's called an opinion and freedom of speech. And no matter your views, without freedom of speech, you'd never be able to sit on this forum and say what you think. So yea, I like freedom of speech and I'm for it. (Dictators are against it, for the record).

So, you have basically one offensive (potentially) thing. And its about this forum. Nothing to do with my views about people becoming authors, or anything else. That's... All of you jumped at me because I said that people on this forum bunch together (There was the "I don't know" at the end too). I fail to see why I should get such heated replies for this. Alright then, in that case I think we cleared up everything.

              • Gourmet_DAO I'm sorry, I don't believe in your religion. I believe in "keep thy religion to thyself". Your "sins" make no sense. It's a sin to spoil someone's mood? Sin to bring people? Where? I'm sorry, there are no arguments I can address here.

Ehem... Where did I call him any names? Or cursed, like did you even read my post? Please, read it before you reply. I mean, this doesn't make sense.

                • Tomoyuki I have? Represented your views correctly. I read your post, before making a comment, and I though about that comment for a good while, before posting it. So I know what I wrote, and what you wrote. If that wall of text contains no resentment and bad experiences, we have nothing to talk about. I can clearly read stuff, you know? So which part of my view do you and others find so offensive?

Did I say encouraging was bad? No, I didn't. Did I say people can't try to become writers or authors? Nope, I said everyone can surely try. I simply didn't agree that writing (or becoming an author) is for everyone. That is still my view. I also told you that you are free to express yourself however you like. I mentioned how the forum changed, and it did. So you didn't argue against any of my views, you argued against me as a person.

                  • Tomoyuki The first quote. Where does it say that I call you an idol? This is not about you, why do you feel the need to associate yourself with that sentence, when I didn't mention any specific person?

The second. Yes, two people jumped at me, just to defend you for some reason. So that is what I meant by bunching together. That sort of behaviour, and also misrepresenting my view. I mean...

The third. He asserts stuff I never said. I asked him what "sin". He didn't answer that question really. What he said was that I have to be responsible for my words. Calling someone resentful and attention seeking is well within the law. This is not a hate speech, so where is he coming from? I haven't been impolite in any of my exchanges. Actually, I was rather polite to someone who called me a toxic user, so.

                    • Tomoyuki Please, read what I wrote (with understanding) and provide a quote for what you claim that I said. Because I never called you an idol, or anything that you claimed thus far. I called you a resentful person, because about a years ago, you posted the same story a few times. Whenever the topic of author's mental health or issues was moved, you were there with the same thing. The same resentment, you are here with today. Moreover, I've seen your interactions with people. The tactics you used today, are the same tactics you always used.

You might be able to fool them, but I'm no idiot. Listen, I don't agree with you, and I think you are an attention seeker. I don't know if you take pleasure from being treated badly, I wrote "In a sense" or "like", and there is a difference between stating something and thinking of a possibility. Or whether you like to be showered by compliments and good words, because bad things happened to you. I don't know your reasons, but that is what you did in loads of your posts. Even in interactions with your readers.

By all means, you can try to convince them that I'm a toxic user, and continue to live in a fantasy. Or face the reality. It's your choice. If you want discuss things with me, do represent my views correctly. Instead of assuming something I wrote, or assuming something I meant. Thanks.

                      • Veronica8 This is a forum for discussions. Why should a mod close this threat?

                        • Tomoyuki I find your reply ironic. Let me tell you why. I haven't proven your point, but you (and the two or three others who replied) proven yours. You call me toxic and sadistic in nature with my responses. By all means, do check my profile out. All the stuff I posted is there for you to view. Then I encourage people to check your profile out.

You are free to hold such views, I simply don't agree with those views. You are free to be resentful, or hate me or think I'm a dick. That fine by me too. You can't tell me what to think, and what to write either. And in my view, someone telling you those things might make thins better, not worse. The best cure for resentment is forgiveness, or so I heard.

                          • Gourmet_DAO ?? No, I will not be a killer? Moreover, my view of him is not even detrimental as such. Besides calling him resentful (and attention seeking), what "sin" did I commit? Not agreeing with his view point? Oh, I didn't realise this community was based on dictatorship. So as long as I don't agree with someone here, I'm not allowed to voice my opinions... Because they might die of a heart attack... Right... You do realise how this sounds?

                            • That is the exact "bunching" I meant. You don't see words that I've written, but your own beliefs. Read it again, maybe you will understand what I actually wrote. kazesenken LostInFictions

Once you do read it again, read your own responses. If you can't see what happened here, I'll spell it out for you. I called one guy a resentful person, because that is my opinion, based on what he wrote on this forum. You on the other hand, immediately tell me that: I accuse people, make them feel bad, make thigs worse, get lost, we will not listen to you... and so on. Now, I don't have a problem with his opinion, I simply disagree about his view and the way he presented that view. Your responses, well read them.

                              • I don't agree. Writing (books/novels etc) is not for everyone. Writing requires certain commitments and sacrifices. All Humans are writers (in a sense). Writing a letter makes you a writer, that doesn't mean writing (a book or a novel) is for you. You can try, sure, but forcing oneself?... I understand encouragement, and have nothing against it. Giving them false hope is a different story. (i.e. "unlike me, you will succeed" kind of thing)

You know, for the few years I've been here, your posts were always resentful and kind of SM in nature. In a sense, you like to be treated badly, like you get a kick out of it or something. This message may seem encouraging to others, but most of the stuff I read is plain resentment, and what happened to you (for the nth time already). To each his own, that is your freedom.

This forum changed a lot though... People hailing some sort of idols, and sucking up to them. Bunching up together to feel... safe? Better about themselves? I don't know. In summary. I don't think everyone can be an author (I will use the word author since everyone is a writer by default really). Encouragement is fine, if done correctly. A wall of text full of resentment, bad experiences... That's hardly encouraging to people. This serves more as a victim card (like many times I saw already). Remember that you have a freedom to write, but others have a freedom to criticise you (or tell you that you suck).

                                • I found it funny that the moment I posted the above comment, all webnovel, inkstone and forum broke down... I mean, really? Anyway, had a laugh. You can close this threat.

                                  • RABBITICOL I have my fixed. Though there are a few other issues, I'm not bothered to report them anymore. The description has been fix, that's all I cared about.
