So I posted the first chapter of my story today...and I'm already at 83 views/reads.

...are these reads even accurate? I never had reads come this fast before on any writing website. So far, I don't have any comments either so it makes me suspicious.

Ash_Striker These are not "reads" these are views. If you want to check the actual reads go view them on inkstone.
The views don't represent how many people have actually read your novel.

Ash_Striker to be honest, yes and no. Views on this website are counted as a click. They could be just clicking on your story, but can't read beyond the first chapter. Sorry for the rough example, but that's the best illustration.

It's like the colleagues above say, if you want to see who the people who read your novel really are, go to the creators section and look at the graphics, they are quite simple to understand.

Ash_Striker Im guessing that 83 view is 83 user/guest that click your book and read perhaps the few first word of the first chapter. Or maybe just looking at the book cover and/or synopsis. I imagine like in a book store/library, one of the book in shelves are being picked by someone, they look at the front cover, the back cover, ready the synopsis, open the cover page, look at the content list, perhaps a glimpse at the first chapter, and then put the book back on the shelve. That someone are already 83 different people. 😅

I have this weird thing going on ...at each 1000k view, I get a collection notification. It's going on for a while now... Am I really getting a collection or is this some bot thing going on?

Neil_Ads and dont forget, adding a book into a library doesnt mean they gonna read it all soon. Based on my own experience of adding some books into a library as an easy way to "bookmarked" those books and I could get back to them some other time. That is if I remember about them. 😅

Neil_Ads Thanks. I thought web novel has done some programming kind of thing where it just gives you a fake collection notification to keep the authors motivated in case they are not getting any real collections, I thought it was happening to me.
