I came up with an idea for a superpower-like academy story a while back, but I never really got around to writing it. Unlike superhero academy stories like My Hero Academia and Sky High, the students aren’t born with their abilities. They are given their powers by the academy, through a genetic transformation process via cryopod transfusion (and more tech, but I’m not explaining everything yet).

The ability each student gets depends slightly on their physical/personal characteristics. There are different “cliques” of power groups that the students often place themselves in: the Elementals (powers related to the elements, ex. Fire-breathing, water-bending, ice freezing, wind control, etc), the Telepaths (powers that involve things such as mind reading, lifting objects with your mind, emotion manipulation, etc.), the Anomalies (very diverse range of powers, walking through walls, cat hybrids, night vision, etc.), the Metas (powers related to enhanced senses, super strength, speed, high jumping, healing factor, etc.) and the Titans (powers with incredibly destructive yet amazing potential to master).

The academy invites students who applied there (or scouted out) and reviews their qualifications before deciding to let them in. Before accepting the spot at the school on their first day, their families need to sign a legal document stating that any personal damage their child causes outside of school grounds will be dealt with as efficiently as possible. There is lore behind how the power-serum process came to be, but it’s secretive for now.

I admit, I am disappointed by the fact that most of the fan-fics have very few chapters, yet I am still happy that I can find some few good exceptions. I mean, if some fan-fics fall under the category of "short stories", then I would give it somewhat of a pass, but yes, I see your point. One story I wrote in the fan fic video game category that I started back in May currently has around 36 chapters.

I am currently writing a few fanfiction stories, but I am not sure whether or not I can publish them in the promotion thread. I'm saying this because I never read anything that stated whether or not you could promote fanfics, only novels. So please, if someone could clear this up for me, that would be great.
