Found a novel with a perfect 5-star rating. Has nearly 300 reviews. Is that even possible? How shameless can the author be? Or is this something else?

I give five star review if I enjoy the story. Specially if i don't see errors and i see effort on writing the chapters.
Uncle_Sheogorath its either the best novel ever (which is really unlikely) Or the author is scummy and deletes any review that is not 5 stars

Author's have the power to delete reviews on this site. It happens.
Sure it has its shameless cons, but at the same time, the amount of trolls and baseless haters on this site is uh...well it warrants the feature.
Uncle_Sheogorath my bad. I'm a plain reader so all I'm sayin is if the story has depth, immersive and well presented plot... with a likeable author, i would not hesitate giving 5. The story you had bumped was probably a good one to get perfect review.
What novel is this? Kinda wanna see ah.
Also 300 is a lot of reviews, if they're from the different people it definitely does show that the author has undeniably some skill but is probably petty enough to delete all the readers who reviewed less than 5 stars. It doesn't necessarily mean the story is good, but 300 5 stars is enough to tell you the story shouldn't be terrible or the author is a reeaaaally dedicated review swapper lol.

You misunderstand what I meant. What I meant is that the novel has 'ONLY' 5-star reviews equalling in the total grade of FULL 5 'STARS. Unlike most novels which are between 4.5 to 4.8.

Uncle_Sheogorath No, I get it, but I mean the fact there are so many different people who have given 5 stars in itself suggests the story shouldn't be awful. The author is def sucky for deleting those other reviews but 300 5 stars means that unless they had deleted like 800 1 star reviews, the overall average including the deleted reviews is probably still a decent rating. I'm just saying, the author may be an awful insecure person who has to delete any slightly bad review but they're probably not a bad writer all in all given the amount of 5 stars they have (again, assuming they are legit)
