vitalforce Coins price are decided for how many words a chapter is. That's the 'retail system' of Webnovel. You can read any novel on the site that you like.
You do have to pay per chapter, and some novels have a mass unlock option for the rest of the book. There's also privilege levels, which allow you to 'be the first to read', ahead of regularly scheduled releases.

vitalforce It depends on how many words are in that book that you choose to spend the coins on. So 500 coins would be 50,000 words, or one book if it has 50,000 or less. It's ah, fairly current with what some books cost if you go to a regular book store.
Bear in mind, the author and WebNovel are both receiving the funds, but I believe the author only gets a little bit if it's an exclusive, and even less if non-exclusive. I don't know that side of the business, at all, so I'll sit down for someone more knowledgeable to share that part.
