So, I've been keeping a careful eye on the analytics for my novel, and I've noticed the the "Valid Read" count is notoriously inaccurate. Does anyone else notice this, or is it just me?

For clarification, I've been at a consisted 1700 "Valid Reads" per day since publication, even though some days my read count went up over 5,000. Also, despite still having similar number count tick-up per day, once I refused the exclusive contract from Webnovel, my "Valid Reads" suddenly dropped to around 200 per day.

This leads me to think that the analytics provided by Webnovel are either lazily/erroneously managed or entirely falsified for the goal of attracting Authors to contract with them and sign away all the rights to their stories.

Interested in your thoughts/views/memories on the subject!

I think less that its screwing with analytical and more webnovel stopped presenting your novel. Like the recent issues with shadowbans on YouTube, its not that they've blocked your work its just no longer as high a priority in their random recommended sections.

In webnovels case it could well be that your book was shoved off 'the front page' for books more likely to play ball.

Hmm, I see. Doesn't that seem suspicious, though? Like, currently, my novel is in the top 40 of 3/4 "New Novel" metrics sections. My reads haven't decreased that much, but the analytics show a 90% drop in readership, which is completely false.
