N0xiety Why do you feel that you are entitled to the fruits of someone else's labor? I may or may not agree with the amount being charged per chapter, but there are translators and editors who put in hours of work. If you think it's so easy, why don't you just translate, edit, and release it for free for all of us to read?
Granted, there are a few that I believe are taking advantage of the system and releasing crap, so I dropped them.

Premium novel will end at some point. We know QI is not charity and they need to get $$. Do you think they would make the novel become free till the end of it ? At some point paywall will be inevitable , it just matters of when. For now just enjoy those free chapters while you can.

Are you sure premium will end? What do you mean by end? If you mean that this premium system will be change then i believe it but it will be more harsh for free reader that make qidian big
Premium program stay around but chapters might stop become free when the premium chapters reach novel end.

Oddly enough, you knew I had translator thoughts there as well as the posting date of the specific chapters, but didn't know that in the translator thought written, I explained how the premium model would work, aka the free model would only be offering 7 chapters a week. Besides, there are so many official posts stating how the free model would work (IIRC, neverfire's post which is still pinned at the top does talk about this issue), so either someone hasn't done his homework or is simply lying through his teeth.
I do support the premium model for certain reasons I have stated in those chapters, but I understand that there are many people who disagree for various reasons. I did feedback the concerns raised by users in a prior post to our Discord group, but recently, I am too busy with other work recently to involve myself in these issues so I decided to stay out of the picture. I even went on a short hiatus for my other novel on another website to cope.
And since, you questioned me about the deletion of the translator thoughts, I'll answer your query too. I believe that comments in a book should be about the book and not on other matters, especially a matter such as this which people have strong emotions of. That's why I emphasized for readers to limit it to that single chapter
Thus, I would prefer it if you wouldn't don't spout blatant lies or make suggestive remarks about me, and do try to leave me out of this fight.
tl;dr: Do your research before writing anything (or stop lying, whatever you are doing), and leave Starve out of this. AND DO NOT POST MY NOVEL BELOW SUCH A SUGGESTIVE TITLE.

divinesea hey dude, i understand what you're saying but don't pull innocent people into this. if you don't want to purchase the spirit stones, then you have to make the hard decision to NOT stay up to date with the latest chapters.

divinesea It cuts off communication between the translator and the audience, because if the translator wants to say something then they will say it in the newest chapter but since ~ 20 chapters are premium right now then only the pigs and whales will be able to see the message.
i don't believe that's how it works. if a translator deems a message worthy of deletion, then it's nothing important anyways. only "pigs and whales" would care about such a small detail.

I like the premium system, it helps the translators and I can read a lot of chapters. What i'm worried about is that this can change in the future and would become a true paywall since Qidian is on its early stages...
Ok. I get that premium is necessary for QI to make some dough but i do hope that the daily free chapter are release after the chapters tht we hv unlock using ss. Otherwise the one tht using ss doesnt get any free release, they basically pay all the way till the end because free released too far behind.
Try reading those low quality chapters like MMORPG : RLG. Then spot all their poorly edited stuff and wrongly translated part. Now let me ask a question so answer this honestly , would you want to pay for chapters like those ?
If QI wants $$ then it could be done by ads like it was being done before but current system of only spirit stones is not user friendly . For example MMORPG:RLG premium chapters are already about 100 ahead of free chapters. Now there is no connection between translater and reader. If a translater wants to report something it will be of a chapters that was traslated so far back by the transator. Only thing that can be said is that QI's earning should have shot up through the roof.

They can always choose not to use SS, and just go for the free chapters. I don't have the money to buy books, but I dont go and demand for it. Either I go to the library or read something in the public domain. Same thing here.
A rather appropriate question regarding low quality chapters would be: Do I have the patience to read such work? Definitely I'll say no.
To the chapter prices, one would have to see how much he is paying compared to ebooks you can buy on amazon or somewhere else. I think that typical american novels are between 50k to 100k words? And you pay at least 6 dollars for the known authors? I'm too lazy to do the math. but I wonder how it compares.
