Hi. I've been offered a non exclusive by web novel on Wattpad. Since I published my book on Wattpad, it seems like someone read it and offered to connect me from there on. I'm still quite unsure about the contract saying that we've got all rights on our books and all that, after reading some other discussions from fellow authors who got the same offer, I'm starting to have second thoughts about this. Will my story really be altered? And will they be taking all my rights? for a non exclusive contract?
Okay so here's what I've been told:
"Hi my name is ****. I'm an Author Liason representative representing Webnovels. I've read your initial chapters and feel that your novel showcases your capabilities as a writer, thus, I'd like to invite you to publish on our platform. We would like to offer a non exclusive contract for your novels currently on the site, this way, you can keep your novel on the site but also at the same time also help you tap on the large reader base of on our platform with over 60 million unique user views, making a win win situation."
I really want to be sure about everything that's going on.
I've already contacted my editor but he isn't replying on time so things are quite hesitant at the moment.
