  • What Are The Conditions For Authors Contract?

If I remember correctly, they are asking for a certain average number of words daily. If you were offered the nonexclusive contract then you can keep publishing on other sites.

I accepted my contract but after I sent that PDF form along with accompanying attachments, my submission was rejected a couple of days later. I didn't know why since no one tells me why. That robotic messenger assistant thingy is no help at all. So I tried again and after that second try was denied as well, I gave up.

Maybe you will have a better experience. Wait for a response for at least a week, maybe they are a little busy, then after, decide for yourself

As long as I can keep the rights to my work, and chose my work schedule, I will form the contract.
I don't feel comfortable when someone else owns my work, and gets to decided whether or not to replace me with another writer.

      Depends on the contract.

Their exclusive contract generally demands a daily chapter of 1500 words for the first four months to qualify for the guaranteed 200 buck payment per month (you can earn more than that but that requires you writing the equivalent of a best seller). You can write at your own pace but if you don't meet that daily goal you don't get the guaranteed payment.

You lose the rights to your work in the sense that webnovel becomes the sole platform for it. You ever have the notion to self publish or want to take your book elsewhere you'd have to ask them before you could.

There's also a non exclusive contract but not sure on its details.

Its a gray zone. No one, at least from the multiple thread discussions I've seen, has ever had their book taken and handed to someone else, the contract reads that they have that ability which scares alot of authors but others have also said its simply not happened, its mostly webnovel being the craptastic explainers of what is that they are.

Now if it was a translated work translators can be swapped like underwear. Author of an original work? Not so easy to swap out.

But yes the exclusive contract is essentially giving them copyright handling, as mentioned if you ever grow dissatisfied with webnovel and want to publish your book elsewhere thats where they can impede you. Similarly you will have webnovel behind you if other sites steal your book for their sites.

And again they have a different contract for those that want to handle copyright themselves, the non exclusive contract is often the better fit for those of us that want to retain our publishing flexibility in the just in case area.

That you're best discussing with the "ones in the know" on discord. The exclusive contract has been beaten to literal death on here, the non exclusive contract is somewhat newer so its better to get the concrete details from the editorial staff.

Hopefully it gives you what you want. :)

They do. You have given up your copyright to it completely. You want to do anything with it, you need their permission and they don't need yours to do whatever they want (publish in another platform, etc) but, you do get paid a % for whatever they earn from that.

do you know if there is a quota which I have to do? like post 1 chap/day or something like that?

Sorry for the EXTREMELY late reply. Haven't been in the forums for a long time (obviously).

There is no compulsion on how many chapters you post a day BUT they do recommend two chapters a day, as this generates reader's interest.

However, for the MGS (Minimum Guarantee System), which activates only when you have started premium (meaning, locked chapters), as long as you post 1,500 words per day, for four months, you get a guaranteed income of US400.

Google pays 85$ per hour. My last paycheck was $8500 operating a hundred hours per week online. My younger brother's friend has been averaging 12k for months currently and he's employed for twenty-two hours per week. I can’t believe however simple it had been once I attempted it out.
