So who thinks this award winning novel by Patrick Rothfuss is just a Xianxia/Xuanhuan novel in disguise? I read it before I began reading Chinese web novels and can’t help thinking this now that I have. Compare it to Mao Ni’s Nightfall and ZTJ. They have the same feel.
The Name of the Wind
Qnumbra Mao Ni just has a slower paced style of writing that resembles Western novels more than Chinese webnovels. Though, one thing's for sure with Patrick Rothfuss... He doesn't write as fast a webnovel writer... :pensive:
Neverfire7 I cry everytime I forget about the Kingkiller Chronicles then suddenly remember and hurry to see if The Doors of Stone was finally released only for there to be literally no news even after months of not checking.
Only similarity I see is a poor boy working himself to greatness
But unlike xianxia characters, he settles for a life of mediocrity, forsaking greatness.
