Same here, it seem like every new author in here gets one of those comments. Don't know if its legit, but it smells fishy to me.
Depends on the sort of post. If its one of those that sound like some African prince wants to bequeath you their entire diamond mine estate because reasons... yeah those are scams.
If its someone claiming to be an editor from royal road, wattpad, wuxiaworld etc and so forth claiming to have recognized you have talent and you should jump to their site for profit... these are also a scam, but also not. First off these messages are typically automated, its not usually a real person but a bot fishing for those interested in joining their site and working through them. Secondly, its not entirely false. Like webnovel other places likely have their own variations of contracted authors, selling premium chapters or what have you.
So these are both fake and real, its fake in the sense that you are being recognized as some unique talent.... just about every author here gets those offers at some point. Same time you can make money by selling your work much like you can on webnovel... the amount however varies.
And no you won't be selling your book as some shakesperian masterpiece.
