According to what I know,qidian gives some potential authors contracts to guarantee a basic living to encourage them to write till end.If their works are good enough, they're easier to adapt to other formats (movies, dramas, comics, games, hard copies, etc.) and more subscribers.

1) How much do original work's author earn on avg ? So, there's no current "original" contracts on Webnovel right now, so can't give you any information from here. I put my first book on amazon and I make about 300 dollars a month from that, and it's not even a good book. The first year I didn't make jack but then it picked up steam and now it's stable income. So, if you're friend already has some fanfics and originals, I'd tell him to put them on amazon and just cash in. Of course, if his stuff is good and he posts here, he could get contract from Qidian, just don't know how much those will be worth. I'm assuming a base value + percentage of revenue.
2) Is there any terms or conditions he need to be aware of ?? If you just upload stuff, Qidian is allowed to use it as they wish but you own it unless you sign a contract with them that says otherwise.
3) Is there any restrictions on fan fics of novels hosted on this site ??? No rape, racism, terrorism, etc. I don't write fanfics so I don't know otherwise.
