I'm join the contest 2 days ago. and my work didn't appear on wpc contest. I think it's a norm cause they need to review first. but the one that just join yesterday, his novel already appeared today. so I'm kinda confuse though. is not every novel got accept in the contest?
my novel didn't appear in the wpc contest
When you joined the contest did you post 4k words initially? The vetting process doesn't start until you do so I imagine most knowing the new stipulation try and get it done right away. While this process usually takes 3 to 5 days it would not be strange if contest entries were bumped to the head of the queue....
Then there's the other issue that webnovel doesn't work weekends so even if you did start earlier, 2 days ago is Saturday so nobody was around to start the process for you....
Frankly the new vetting process and how it works with contests is a bit of a crap shoot... from my own experiences with the wpc, there's a crap ton of favoritism going on in the background along with the red tape... nothing provable but its often so blatant its hard to say its anything but such...
Darth_Xiane yep, when I'm first joined it's just reach 3k+ word. but now it's already in the 6k+ almost reach 7k.
and when i see this morning, i have a content editor name "hao" i dunno what it's mean though.
ah, btw I'm a new author so I'm still confuse with wn feature
Content editors are the staff assigned to assist writers with their books, typically though one isn't assigned until you take up a contract. Still if you have one then that's your go to for issue resolving. Just a matter of hitting up the discord server for webnovel and finding this Hao individual.
Darth_Xiane errr i wanna ask last question.. this may sound weird though, but what are average viewer for new novel that just have 10 chapter only?
There's no average to be had. Viewership very much depends on a host of factors. If your book is a contest entrant on a popular subject with a novel take on the plot... you might have more viewers than a random started book with a niche theme that paints the plot by numbers.
Of course the reverse is also possible. A completely generic title might get thrown on the site and attract a following instantly compared to a more publucisized unique story. Just too varied to say X should have Y viewings...
