I read a lot of posts here and it seems like some authors here just spam their novels recommendation which makes me afraid that even if I post once I might get negative effects...
So yeah... What should I do to prompt my novel and where exactly should I?

TheHeavenlySleeper I'll start by saying that it's okay to recommend your novel on the forum if it has elements/genres that someone is specifically asking for! You can also put it on the main shameless promotion thread (started by GrandVoidDaoist), but the mods haven't started a new one in a while, meaning your story is going to be one of thousands of posts on the most recent one. Using the forums to promote is only really an issue when you start putting your novel in threads where it doesn't belong (like recommending a romance book when someone asks for no romance or a high school life novel when someone asks for an adult protagonist); that's why there's all the spam you were talking about, and those are the kind of people who may not get a good reaction. You can also swap reviews with people if you're willing to go that route, but again, that stays in the main thread started by the mods.
Apart from that? You can try promoting it outside of this site. Cross-posting on other sites or using social media might draw in some readers. (You have to find your niche/demographic and be mindful of that wherever you go, of course.) Discord groups are pretty good, too, especially if you find one that caters to your genre. Making friends with other authors and engaging with the comminity is also helpful, at least in spreading your penname.
