I do not agree, original stories have a place here and I believe they should stay visible. if anything they should be given more exposure as to further motivate original authors to keep writing.

Perhaps stories that are originals that are updated often get more exposure, and those that don't get a bit less, that way they have something to strive for.

    I think there should be a toggle when searching the switches between original and translated novels like what they currently have for the updates.

    Just have a different filter in ranking/search

      Isekai_Monarch original novels are more than 10 times the translated ones I'm here to read chinese novels not originals if i want to read originals i can go to dedicated websites and i dont want to waste my time reading originals that may or may not be dropped in the future. They dont even have signed a contract with webnovel yet

        If you want to read Chinese novels, then read Chinese novels. I enjoy both originals and Chinese novels there is no reason on why there only has to be either or. Why make it be a choice when you can have both?

        This is an international website, so there will be fiction that is not just from China. Because this is an international site expect to see fiction from everywhere.

        I for one am happy to see both translations and originals in one place, it expands my horizons and gives me more to read, regardless if they are of a certain quality or are first attempts at writing.

        I must admit it is a tad difficult to find quality originals, with time that will be sorted out so it is not really worth mentioning, Qidian is working however hard to make the reading experience better.

        Not everyone here wants to read originals, neither does everyone want to read stories that are quite similar to each other in its foundation. Originals are a way to add diversity in what can be read, with time all authors improve. There is also the fact that not everyone who makes originals wants to make a career out of writing, this gives them a chance to see if it is a career they want to have.

          I think originals is one of the ways they're planning on making a profit with the site. I don't think they'll straight up allow a button that hides all originals.

          I think the best you would get is a button that allows originals to be hidden for a limited time. Maybe a week? Two?

          Especially since they're users right now are people who didn't really care about the drama behind qidian and just read so they're a nice group so to speak. Wouldn't want to alienate originals from those loyal first users.

Sure its international but there already x originals novels that the author forgot, have rl problem or just said sorry i cant continue (based on other posts) can you tell me which novel in advance is going to get dropped? Or which one is going to upload a troll chapter ? Yea sorry i wasted enough of my time and if you want to read originals novel then simple just dont tick the option ?

              Originals suck. From webnovel' s point of view, it could turn off new users so there is an incentive for them to sort out the originals.

                dudes right most originals are either missclicks or just plain garbage, deff. need an option to hide them

                like 80% of them aren't even real stories, just something people made to test out the system. then theres the 19.9% written by 12-year-olds and finally the .1 which can eventually turn into something readable(after couple years of groundwork)

                so yeah

                  DarkShadowow Have you seen those random titles ? Did you ever tried to use the search functions the other day i was looking for a novel with the word gene and only 3 or 4 of them were translated? Started reading a novel with a few chapters only to find out it was dropped?

                      Isekai_Monarch They have exposure. Which is why we're seeing them. Op just wants a filter for them so we can't see them. If you read both, sure. Perfectly ok. But some on here want to read only quality stories, or simply ones from asian cultures. Why does it matter to you if readers are given an option to hide those "originals"?
