Maybe Qidian should state when was each story last updated. the website Archve of Our Own does this, and it somewhat gives an idea to the audience if the story's dead or ongoing.

Like you bait me into it and then just stop giving me the drug, HOW AM I SUPPOSED TO GET OVER IT?

ShiiiMiiing How do you think drug dealer's normally draw people in? Show you the good and misleading stuff first of course. You can infer the bad stuff on your own, but by the time you have the knowledge and capacity to understand what you've done, you no longer have the ability to quit. :>

Come to think of it, that's basically how Multi level marketing works in a nutshell too.

ShiiiMiiing You can actually see when a story was last updated, though it takes a little work. You need to go to the main page of the novel — where the cover and synopsis and table of contents are, along with all the reviews — and click into the 'Table of Contents' tab. There, you should be able to see the very first line saying 'Latest Release: Chapter xxx: chapter title' and right behind it is how long ago that most recent chapter was released.
