You are not wrong. Over the past 2-weeks, I have written several negative remarks aimed at the forced use of the Webnovel App. In my last comment (written on a laptop), I received a response from the writer that does not show up in my message notification, for reader.
To have these many problems at this level of the game is a pain not just for the FANs who can't purchase chapters without the APP, but the Authors themselves who lose revenue.
