I don't know; it seems like you can only buy new chapters if you already purchased them from the novel before the update.
If you want to read new stories, you will face the same use the app problem after a certain point.
At least, that is still my problem.

Are you having any kind of problem? For now you can go back to read using web but only for chapters where the author did not locked up. When you reach the locked chapters you will get the app message. For fanfics is back to normal. But remember Web Novel do things on shadow, they just change the AD watch rewards from exp to random and the all Works FP from sign in to Random FP

I can still buy locked chapters, but only if I have read the novel before.
Locked chapters on a new novel will give me the app message.

It might be a temporary backtrack, and then they change it again, and if less and less people complain, they might just make it permanent this time. Problem is, there will be less people complaining, as many will leave and not come back.

After this stunt they pulled, I've changed my priority to scribblehub.

Who knows what they will do in the future. Maybe they pull out another bittorrent stunt in the future, shooting their own foot.
