Audio Feature issues on App. Unable to understand voice

My App updated Friday morning.. With this update the audio feature on my Iphone is now absolutly horrible because the voice on the audio has a extremely heavy Asian accent in English which makes it extremely hard to understand what its saying from time to time....

As a truck Driver in the US, I use the audio feature which enables me to listen to the novels i enjoy to pass the time day by day in entertainment while I am driving and doing my job.

I have talked to my friend JKSManga on discord and showed him what is sounded like on my end and he said it sounded nothing like what i was hearing on his Android... since I don't have an Android, I can't really determine if its just my app on IOS or something else... can I please get help in the situation because as of yesterday I have no longer been able to read/listen to my novels I been loving!

UPDATE:

I have checked the following things.... I installed WN on my iPad.. and the audio works fine.. its NOT great at all (never was but its been manageable even with the update a few months ago and now the audio has gotten slightly worse a few months ago with it now reading a few words and then pausing and then continuing )..

With this.. I clear my Cache... No Luck

Deleted and reinstalled the app on my IPhone... Logged in, redownloaded the audio packet... and I still get the heavy Asian Accent.. at this point I am concluding this is a Bug on IPHONES ONLY and Not the iPad I have a IPhone 12 Pro Max and have iOS 16.1 installed.

I have Webnovel 5.15.0 installed

Sevokevo my audio has problems too. It pauses once every three seconds even though there's no punctuation. Really goofy bug, which makes listening impossible.

Thanks for bringing this up. I had it switching from the ok English voices to the Chinese accented ones. Happened a few days ago) I’d tap on the male voice (the one I usually use to listen to) or switch to the female voice and it would change back to a more comprehensible accent. It was annoying but manageable.

But today it seems like it’s refusing to go back to the English accents. If this goes on I won’t be spending much time on Webnovel. I’m also heavily dependent on the voice feature.

Heirloom Yup.. I already mention that... And this NAILS it exactly the issue at hand.. it seem to start doing this at the same time when the reading got a little more choppy on HOW it reads this ON TOP of the heavy accent.. which more or less switches to when something happens on my internet connection.. Or it would do that at the beginning of each chapter in which I just reset the chapter

Issue happening on my device since Mid October. Previously on the 5.14.0 version of WebNovel the audio issue was intermittent, and I could try killing the app or clearing cache to get it to work normally for a bit sometimes. But now after the 5.15.0 version update, it is happening 100% of the time and makes listening to audio unbearable.

This needs to be resolved ASAP. I have already attempted to clear cache, sign out/in, and remove and reinstall the app. None of that fixed the issue.

Current Phone/App Setup:

Webnovel App Version: 5.14.0(692)
Mobile phone model: iPhone 14 Pro Max
Operating System version: iOS 16.0.2 (20A380)

I have the same annoying Asian German whatever accent. It has heavily impacted my usage because I drive a lot during work

I have a problem were it suddenly reads something that isn’t written in the Webnovel, happens quite frequently with a lot of different books, it’s always the same thing being said: “extra station silicol auto explorary quinsetius inolics circulation sedation contamination senenarac friqment” super annoying. Anyone else got this happening to them?

Yes.. most the time to fix this for me is to reset the audio on the book and it only happens to me when the heavy accent comes into play…

FlyingHippopotamus dude it’s crazy I thought I was the only one. It inserts these words and for the longest I’d freak out and have to look at the text to see of I missed anything

FlyingHippopotamus for me it’s even weirder audio “oreofer going instruction ntun never are you koing okalayla immediately is the bulletin loawski incoming” and there’s more too like wtf I had to make up words to even describe it I also have it audio recorded.

I updated to IOS 16.1.1 and still not fixed

This is something that Webnovel has to fix because I understand that it goes to the Asian audio when there is internet interference ( which is better than the robotic ones) but the Asian version it is now on there 24/7 ……. I reached out to Webnovel and they like going to give feedback …. It’s so upsetting because I can understand some of what the Asian version is saying but then it starts saying crazy stuff

Jonna9799 just the fact that they have not said anything yet and the fact that it still works fine on Android but is terrible on IPhones is what got me concern and the fact that we are close to 2-3 weeks now with no app update tells me that they have this as a low low priority and not urgent to fix which upsets me greatly because my reading time has practically been halted

Oh and it happens on my iPad IOS 15.6.1 and my iPhone 11 IOS 16.1.1 …. So it can’t be the software version either

I am having the same problem but also audio start talking all the words are jumbled together and it is very annoying. I have tried re downloading the app but it didn’t change anything.

ann_reynolds nothing works I’ve done it all can only hope this issue gets fixed by Webnovel themselves.
