RedKaizer There was a really promising original novel but the author quit it without notice or further updates, then created and focused on a totally new novel. Why start it if you are not going to finish it?
IMO, for trial purpose, every original author should be limited to one novel at the beginning. When the first novel reaches a reasonable amount of chapters and audience, they can start a second one. This will give them more time to think about the plot and all things necessary.
No Enthusiasm from Original Authors
QueenCL Sometimes a person may be posting stories that they've had for years and are already completed. I know that I have one large one that I'm working on and one that I finished several years ago posted.
RedKaizer Try checking the first 100ish novels on the power rankings of Originals. People usually award decent novels that update on the regular with their Power Stones so those are getting updates for now.
For an enthusiastic author come check out my novel:

RedKaizer I like the ideas to remove dropped novel from list, but that need certain standard to consider the novel is dropped or hiatus. Maybe QI can make separation on active and inactive novel, those which never updated in 2 months as hiatus and 4 months as dropped?
SweetsTomato There should be also ''Complete Novel'' Status
If you guys are that concerned about this, make sure to comment on chapters and leave encouraging reviews. Knowing that people are following and enjoying the novel is great encouragement. I've spoken to several authors who have quit or thought of quitting due to lack of support.
Well, it was only recently that a view counter was made available to be checked by us authors. Mobile app only right now, and only total views.
So in this regard, most original authors never knew how their works were fairing in the grand scheme of things, in terms of views and in comparison to others.
Without comments or reviews, we wouldn't even know who has bothered to read our works.
The TKA event also coincided to eat up pstone votes so there were little votes coming the original works way until the initial push mid may when the splash screen came out.
It helps to hear from readers and interacting with them through what webnovel, as a platform can provide.
Most of the original authors are in highschool or college and this is their first time writing. So, they would need to actually "feel" the support from their readers.
Those of us who have experienced working (and are older) are a bit more used to less encouragement (for lack of a better word).
So, I leave that for you to decide what to do with because like authors, we can't really dictate what readers would do or feel when faced with an original work =)
Some authors may have real-life problems....it is currently exam month on many cases.
You have to understand that even if you can't give them your power stone, at least give a review or a simple comment of thanks to tell them you support them.
Like what 17 said, some of them are just highschooler or college student, they need motivation to actually do write more chapters even if they love to write.
You also have to understand that we also have to work in real life. I work for almost 11 hour a day, and can only give my readers 3 chapters a week.
Back then I don't even know if anyone read my work because I don't know how much view I got. But someone, only one readers, decided to say thanks in every single one of my chapter! And it kept me going!
Authors might write not for the sake of getting fame, but write for themselves. So it's possible they only care to write whenever they want to, and possibly update once a month.
Please understand we Authors also human that need support and understanding from the readers. We are a real member of society that have to work! We are not a full-time Authors that dedicated all of our broke to spoil the readers!
Though I envy my fellow Authors that have much free time.
Sorry, no offend to you.
You can't blame them though. Do you expect anyone would drop their novel if people actually liked it?! People aren't encouraging enough. If you cared so much about the novel, why wouldn't you support it? If no one even tried to support your work, why would anyone keep working on it? It's obviously better to drop it and work on something else hoping the readers would support it.
RedKaizer

Title : Red Thread of Fate
Synopsis : Fūma Monou, a cold-blooded doctor, who had killed many people for revenge. Fūma no longer believed in others since the past events that happened to him, he didn't believe in love. But ... It all changed, when he picked up a little girl who looked like a "broken doll" with bruises and bandages all over her body.
Yuki, the little girl who had to face the bitter reality of her life. She was tortured, alienated and banished by her own family. She continued to believe that someday there would be someone who wanted and needed her. Even when she was in a dying state before being discovered by Fūma.
Since then, Yuki who initially only considered Fūma as her benefactor, was beginning to open up her heart to Fūma. Likewise, Fūma who initially picked Yuki just for his sake alone, now began to feel different things to the little girl who was growing up.
Nevertheless, both chose to hide their feelings which resulted in frequent misunderstandings between the two of them.
When they finally found out each others’ feelings, and Fūma started to believe in love, happiness, and sincerity. Destiny had another will ... It actually separated the two of them.
Fūma felt fooled by destiny. He vowed not to fall in love again and avenged Yuki's death.
But, once again destiny brought them together in the future. With new identities and new lives.
Will they finally be together?
Or will their love tragedy be repeated once again?
TheLonerLion wait, what the hell is broke?
TheLonerLion Authors that dedicated all of our broke to spoil the readers!
We are not author that dedicated all of our time to spoil the readers.
AidaHanabi there's a time and a place to advertise your novel...
AidaHanabi Aida, this is not the best place you know.
AidaHanabi Everything has a time and a proper place...
I agreed with
Some authors may have real-life problems or there not too much reader, review or something like that that could encouragement them.
Just like me at beginning.
Honestly, sometimes I want to stop or quit because no one read or give me respon or review and vote. And sometime because my life problems like my family condition.
But, thank God, I still writing stories until now and still believe maybe someone will like my stories but... Again... Yeah... We never know what will happen in future.
TheLonerLion lol. I thought it's weird too.
On another note, I am one of the author who put my novel on hiatus. I am very sorry but this whole month of Ramadan I'm very busy with 2 jobs. At night I sleep only 3 to 4 hours.
Making time to write compared to time to read / join the forum are not the same for me. Writing is work, no matter how enjoyable, it requires my full attention. It is draining, so I have to allocate suitable time for it.
Reading/foruming (is this a word?) is something casual done while taking a break from work. This is something relaxing done anytime of the day.
