The point is that er gen has great stories but sucks at romance (mostly because he introduces multiple woman who are difficult to manage later on).
Pursuit of the truth- the title is named so because everything is false. At the end some female remain, while some end up being the 'bitch' of the series.
Renegrade immortal- there are three woman. One was all he truly loved. The other girl has no role than to invoke pity and the third is a bitch
ISSTH- this novel is simply trying to juggle both harem and non harem supporters in a stupid way.
AWE- all major girls get juggled and forgotten with the exception of few. (Lets be honest- who remembers hou xiaomei later on)
The point in all these is- he should have just introduced a single girl in all these cases.
He has written other 2-3 novels but I have not read them. Lets see how it ends.

Just saying Slaughter is a total badass He encompasses all the badass origins(Laws) of Wang Lin. This guy can time travel, this guy can also create whole worlds from just his dreams alone, this guy is badass!!

Littlegirl78 I find Er Gen's romantic tragedies to be lovely. The MC's partner will never lose her depth unlike other Xianxia's romance where lines of females will be MC's love zombies. They'll be devoid of other feelings aside obsession to MC. And the so called "romance" genre here is all about gold digging and gender bending.
I do agree with the bad endings. I dropped his novels at the last 200 chapters for some reasons. It's just the inconstency of quality on his novels. The latter parts' decline of quality is too obvious. I just don't get why he always have to write another new book at the middle of a current project.

There is lots of novels I want to read but I can't.
Having just one women is the best. But still being obsessed after her death... I don't like it. It isn't like I want new girls. Just if there isn't I feel like no matter how many years (or chapters) pass nothing makes progress.

RI- I am really at the beginning of it just I ate spoilers so I am not sure about things but why he is always feels guilty. He is killing people without blinking but about girls... It is so absurd.

But I don't think this Er Gen's fault because wuxia, xianxia or xuanhua novels are neither harem nor terrible with female characters. Killing lots of people without blinking is OK. But talking with girl is

Littlegirl78 can't really complain much about the romance's pacing since most of his novels' main genre are still Xianxia. However, the dialogues/monologues when it comes to their partner is still sweet and doesn't seem too forced.
Unlike your usual narrative where they described how pretty the girl is, then MC will make a rape face. Something will happen, boom they are in love. But this seems to be more of your cup of tea, young hearts want those stories with meet cute beginnings or love at first sight nonsense. But of course, the man should be rich. Women, amirite?

bachingchung Indeed, most xianxia romance are pretty hypocritical. I mean, out of thousands of people the girl has met, only the mc remains unfazed and it piques the fl's curiosity. How self-centered can they possibly be. Also, princesses and people of status must have seen hundreds of bodyguard die for them, they have no love blossoming, but when mc does it, it becomes romance of century.
In some cases, people act like a shameless scroundel in front of girls, but when other people do it, they kill them.
The most funny are the broken engagement mc. So, they hate the girl for breaking the arranged engagement. But when mc becomes stronger, he will fall in love with a new girl with a family background but is forcefully engaged to someone else. He proceeds on killing the fiance and creates havoc on girl's family. You see the point, he hated a girl and her new beloved because she broke the engagement, but him and his new fl end up becoming the same type of people he hated at beginning
Water0202020 indeed, and the rape part ain't included on that one. That's why I never set such high expectations on the romance part. Er Gen is somehow great on pulling the heart strings regardless of the lack of presence of a female lead.
Every time a woman appears on a Xianxia you'll know that trouble is brewing. Women described with oval shaped face, big clear eyes, brows shaped as a phoenix, milky mountain peaks, jade like skin and a plump bottom are Mob magnets. Mobs with usually strong fathers or have a grandpa that dotes upon them. That's why I never complained that Meng Hao and the gang never seek woman companionship as strongly as other MC's.

Rape in cliche xianxia is so illiogical that it hurts my eyes. So mc rapes a girl(mostly on aphrosidiac) then says 'I will take responsibility'. Voila~the girl begins to feel a feeling she never had before. By this logic, anyone can force a girl they like and say those cheesy stuff to become couple.
Renegrade immortal is better in comparison. Sure, clone girl was a bitch. But who could sing praises of the man who raped her, especially when it was an enemy (from girl perspective)

I was just rereading AWE and couldn't help but thinking that ErGen is the best at comedy
