Billdoor Yes, democracy has its place in some situations but not all especially when it comes to creative works, how would people know whether or not they would like something if they are not given a chance. Tell me if you were given a synopsis of one punch man ( mine you a very basic one) and people were to vote on whether or not it would be translated and shown internationally then it would have remained as a gem of Japan. In most cases, people don't know what they want and it is up to the creators to give us for example mine craft. Even if you were to say that you know what you want, in the world today diversification is king, especially as qidian already has a wide range to choose from, therefore they can reach a larger audience. If I have to wait for more genres then that is barely acceptable but to be denied the joy just because the majority wants to read more cliches until they become jaded like me, is truly very sad. And please dont give me that, there is no correlation other than the fact that they are both democracies, between an election and choosing a novel, they are two very different situations.
