DazzlingGem Actually, in English, that name seems gender neutral along with the picture, if you wanted it to be obvious, you need to be more blatant, or just correct people w/o taking offense when people assume wrongly.;,;.

DeJeL I'm not really taking offense. I just really thought it was obvious with my name and even my picture that's why I was asking. And if you think it's gender neutral, it's still weird to just assume I'm a guy or call me sir in a platform where you don't know the members' ages. Well, maybe that's just for me. Can't really change my name here now unless I asked for the staff to do it. Maybe I'll try to change my pic.
novelupdates has all the option, try to browse it and while i do not know of it qidian may have this option too

DazzlingGem Sorry if it sounded like I was assuming anything, I was just stating how I feel about the situation, not saying what you were or were not doing, just suggesting what you should or should not do.;,;. Also, I tend to assume that people are male unless something points me in the direction of female (due to me being male). And last but not least, sir, where I come from, has nothing to do with age, it has to do with respect, I can call a 2-year-old boy sir while at my current age of 21 and I see nothing wrong with it, tho I admit it sounds a little funny, but still, that's just an example, age has nothing to do with showing respect, and that's all that is.;,;.
Edit: So, due to you being female, to show you respect, I'd say ma'am.;,;.

DeJeL Ok, it just sounds weird to me. I often think 'sir or ma'am' is used for those of higher rank, teachers or older than me, etc.. If used on a child, I'd feel like the one talking is kind of a servant. I guess this will just be a difference in culture(?).
And I also assume most were male actually since I often see it really were males posting on forums like this (I mean those I encountered). But I don't immediately address them as male if possible unless I'm sure or have no choice on what to call them.
