Some novels have a initial premise that is WAY different from the rest of the novel.

Like a slowpaced mystery with a comparatively weak protagonist trying to uncover the truth aided by a cheat. But after the first arc (50-75 chapters), the story focus becomes battle like other xianxia.

This happens in Get Lost's novels - Way of the Devil and Mystical Journey. Maybe in Wizard's World as well, though I don't read that novel.

As for me, I like Get Lost - actually, I like multiple world transmigration that is the main plot in all his novels but I think that gimmick would be annoying for readers who came to expect smart MC giving up his wits for punching power.

Any other novels with changing story premise?

    A lot of novels , but that to isnt the worst for me . I see a mc super sweet to change in a rapist and a killer with out a razon . The novel i talk isnt here but is popular . The same way when i dont like where going the novel i dropp it XD

      Kumo desu ga nani ka has a huge tone shift after around 150 chapters in the webnovel
      But i don't if it counts as she is still mostly a spider

        Well there is Carefree path of dream and looks like author of this novel is fan of Get Lost too.

        Omnipotent Sage, well it has a witty logical MC upto certain standard. (I have never seen a 100% logical MC except on one novel which I have read its MTL upto 2k chaps)

        Reverend Insanity, 100% logical MC. Cruel and heartless and can do anything for his benefit. ANYTHING!

        Overlord (JP) Well its a different kind of novel which i liked and thought i should mention.

        Thats it but i think u probably have already read em all or know about it.

            Eshtha Yeah, Carefree is pretty nice. IDK about Omnipotent Sage, so I'll give it a try. Reverend Insanity is too dark for me. Overlord is cool.

            Also if you can stand MTL, do try All-Heaven Armageddon Online on LNMTL, it has a pretty cool premise.

                Whats bad about reading MTL is you become undead. I've read so many mtl now & I think that was a bad decision. Missed so many key parts and now reading its translation is a bore. Gone the days of excitment of waiting for a chapter with others. I'm currently waiting for way of devil to catch upto 400th chaps but dont think it will be done anytime soon...😔😔😢
