If you are willing to break away from a male mc, my novel has a female mc who starts off weak and will eventually become strong. It is an action, romance though. It has some adult themes like war, rape, and sex. There are men that like her, but some don't as well. While my mc is a woman, the story also focuses on the men in her life. I say it is a woman mc because it follows her and the men die or are lost along the way. It is set in a fantasy world with mythological beasts and sword and magic fighting. I generally try to have fighting or action at least once per week.

    Magus Era is only 250 chapters from finishing its 1900 chapter count (finished raw). As far as I know the MC only has 2 wives (which havent even had kids yet) and the flood arc might fit your taste on disaster and all that jazz.

                  Too OP MC - Never making one of those unexplained bull crap MCs I'd rather just kill them off.
                  Overpraising MC - he get's praised when he meets new people or shocks crowds but that should only be the time he or any of the other characters are praised.
                  Repetitive Events - I want to avoid this trend as much as possible. well... not just this but most of the other reasons why i drop the novels i've read for so long.

                              It's OP MC, yet at the same time, not so OP MC.
                              Definitely not a novel that is praising the MC. You will understand very well what that means. Although there will be a certain character that is supposed to be praising MC ... yet I'm not sure if that character even does the job properly.
                              It might be a bit repetitive, just not the repetitiveness that you mentioned. It will be a different type of repetitiveness. The MC will get occasional power-ups, then events will happen, but MC will not become boss nor awe anyone. MC leaves, then repeat. Hard to not repeat actually... but not much at start for sure.
