Yeah, same here, this Way/Option to watch Adds to unlock Chapters is, from the looks of it, permanent lost after buying Coins Once, or at leasts the Special offer where you Watch adds for unlocking Chapters. So it is sadly 99% sure not a Bug.

Once your account has any purchase on it, you permanently lose the ability to unlock chapters by watching ads.
This has caught out a lot of people and is a regular topic to show up here.
