People tend to focus on using words that they don't even understand completely.
I think it's good that they are trying to change their ways but the thing they forget that, they aren't focusing on the story itself.
Imagine a book where you find words that you can't understand and most of the times people leave it at that point only.
But the entire scenario changes when you are able to link the words with the other parts of the line.
Use new words but make sure it's understandable.
My opinion, I want to know yours.
