I also sometimes experience these things. You could use few tips that I have usually done.

First, add more detail. At some point, you may put some detail to emphasize the scene or moment. For example, in a certain fighting scene, you may want to show how the character fight or feeling.
But, do remember to not making it too detailed as it will decrease your writing quality

Next, you could try to read a few good novels to increase your word bank and ideas. As an author that is not a native English speaker, I usually did this to increase my vocab or get some ideas.

You could also try to make an outline for your story. The more detailed your outline will also add more words to your story automatically.

Hello fellow author, in my experience I got replied immediately around a week or so. The contract team usually replied on Friday if there is something wrong with my document.
Besides that, did you got contacted by the webnovel team before or you try to apply for the contract by yourself?
There is a difference between two of them, the first one you will get a notification on your inkstone if you are getting an offer for a contract. The latter usually take months or more time, since there are thousands of author applying for contract.
You could try to contact the content editor at discord. Since they also screening the novel content before being contracted.
